Fox News does love to reinforce those "outrages" it deems important, especially those related to victimized Christians. And Fox News does love Cardinal Dolan, the arch-conservative head of the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops who are fighting the Obama administration's contraception mandate - a position that seems to be supported by Fox News in its coverage of the issue. One of Fox's recent "outrages" is the refusal, by the management of the EmpireStateBuilding, to agree to GOP Congressman Grimm's request that the building be lit up in red to honor Dolan. Bill Donohue, pedophile priest defending radical right wing head of the Catholic League ranted about this on Megyn Kelly's alleged news show, "America Live." Greg Jarrett whined about it on a weekend news show. In both segments, Cardinal Dolan, who is worshipped on Fox, was lavished with praise. Today, Fox "News" did yet another report on this issue. And yet again, he got some free face time for his expansive visage.
Friday, on "America's Newsroom, Arthel Neville provided the back story and tossed to Laura Ingle who was "on location" in NY City. (BTW, Neville is part of an awesome musical family several of whose performances I've had the pleasure of seeing.) Ingle's comment, that "this isn't the first time that the Empire State building has been embroiled in controversy" articulated a talking point that was brought up by Megyn Kelly in her whine about this heinous affront to the most awesome Dolan; i.e.the building was lit to honor those Chinese commies. She added that the owners "came under fire" for not honoring Mother Teresa, also a cause celebre on Fox. In response to Neville's question of how the Cardinal is reacting, Ingel said that "anybody whose ever heard the Cardinal speak, he is a "funny and very charismatic sort of guy" who is "taking it all in stride." Video of Dolan, in his ceremonial drag, was shown during which Dolan said “I certainly appreciate the very thoughtful initiative of *Congressman Grimm. I’m worried about my head swelling, so I don’t need anymore signs of recognition.”
Given the "recognition" that Dolan gets on what seems to be his personal media outlet, his overly inflated and rather large cranium could burst at any moment. You don't want to be downwind!
*According to the Wall Street Journal, "The FBI is considering whether to open an investigation into allegations that followers of a New York City rabbi made illegal campaign contributions to U.S. Rep. Michael Grimm, according to a law enforcement official."
