Fox Nation: With A Father Like This, No Wonder Obama Did Not Want To Release His Full Birth Certificate

Reported by Ellen - April 29, 2011 -

Just when you think Fox Nation can't get get any more poisonous, it's now alleging that President Obama hid his birth certificate to hide his father's womanizing and polygamy. It's all in a deliberately incendiary - and deceitful post called, A Slippery Character': New Details Emerge About Obama's Father. The post begins, With a father like this, it is little wonder President Obama did not want to release his full birth certificate. (H/T Anthony De Rosa) UPDATED

I guess now that the long-form birth certificate has been released, Fox Nation has to find new ways to slime Obama as somehow un-American. What better way than to go after his African father? And to portray him as a dangerous skirt chaser is just icing on the racial innuendo cake.

Documents obtained from the U.S. immigration service paint a picture of a man who 'had an eye for the ladies' and, according to his file, had to be warned several times to stay away from girls at the university.

...It also considered his earlier Kenya marriage as a grounds to deny him a visa extension but concluded that 'polygamy was not an excludable or deportation charge'.

That's slimy enough. But the fact is that Fox Nation surely knew that President Obama released his legal, valid birth certificate in 2008 which had his father's name on it. That's also the same certificate of live birth that Fox News' own Shepard Smith declared valid. The long-form birth certificate, released a few days ago, has barely any further information on Obama's father. It certainly doesn't have anything close to the sort of salacious details that Fox Nation suggested would be there - which it almost surely knew would be the case. Whose birth certificate would say such things?

For Fox Nation to overlook the facts, suggest there was something on the long-form birth certificate that was not there and that had not already been produced - while engaging in smarmy attacks on the father Obama hardly knew - doesn't just fly in the face of the website's own claim of fairness and balance, it's downright despicable.

UPDATE: This is now the top story in Fox Nation's "Fired Up" email.
