Cavuto Gives The Buzzer To Democrats

Neil Cavuto showed his petulant, childish side yesterday (4/12/11) by showing off a buzzer he said he will use on anyone he thinks is wrong. He went on to play a series of clips of “over the top” statements by politicians that he buzzed, sometimes multiple times. Guess which party’s leaders were shown?

Cavuto said, "Did you ever wish you had a buzzer …every time you heard a politician bluster, Democrat or Republican, they say something stupid? Buzzer. Say they whine about cuts, we just pick up this buzzer, and just buzz… I'm going to use it constantly now. Every time someone says something over the top, we’re going to pound the buzzer down."

Cavuto then played a series of clips.

"Seniors, you’re on your own with the rising health care costs." Buzz.

"Who are they drowning?" Buzz. The troops abroad (buzz), the veterans (buzz), the children (buzz), the elderly (buzz)."

"Ending Medicare for our seniors (buzz) while we give tens of billions of tax breaks to big oil (buzz)."

"Military wives who are wondering how they're going to be able to feed their children (buzz)."

"Why are the Democrats going to take away our paychecks (buzz)?"
"Some seniors will end up dying (buzz)."

"Republicans try to use the budget to try to kick little boys and girls out of pre-kindergarten programs (buzzed twice).”

"The Republican budget rips apart the safety net for seniors and nursing homes, and assisted living facilities, as well as low income kids and individuals with disabilities (buzzed four times).”

So guess who was shown? As the Fox News transcript confirms, we saw Democrat Chis Van Hollen, Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reid and Debbie Wasserman-Schultz. Everyone else was someone much less well known - if they were well known at all. Apparently, no Republican Congressional leaders – or Donald Trump - say anything “over the top.”
