A Feisty Democrat Hits Back On Megyn Kelly's "Democrats Running Away From Obama" Meme

Three cheers for Dick Harpootlian, former chairman of the South Carolina Democratic Party, for his feisty debate on America Live today. Instead of really covering President Obama's speech to Disabled Veterans of America in Georgia about Iraq, Kelly focused on the fact that "one prominent Georgia Democrat was far, far away... (at a supposedly pre-planned engagement) more than 100 miles away." Is that just a convenient excuse or is it a harbinger of things to come?" I'm sure it was just a coincidence that Kelly, supposedly an objective host, offered no explanation that didn't reflect badly on Obama.
Harpootlian told Kelly, "We'd love to have (Obama) here in South Carolina. I'm inviting him to come to South Carolina right now. He would be tremendously helpful in this state."
Harpootlian quickly added a great line: "I don't see, by the way, any Republicans inviting Mitch McConnell to come into their states and help them campaign."
I'm not crazy about Harpootlian's next claim, that McConnell "singlehandedly stopped the Obama agenda and he's really running the agenda in this country right now." I think Harpootlian meant to say that McConnell was singlehandedly doing everything he could to obstruct the Obama agenda but his suggestion that McConnell is de facto running the country is probably not the message Harpootlian intended. However, the rest of his appearance was top notch.
