Racial Attacks On Obama A-OK On Fox News, Says Bill Shine, SVP Of Programming

Reported by Ellen - July 29, 2009 -

Fox News has responded to Glenn Beck's racial attacks on Barack Obama, in which he said, "This president has exposed himself as a guy – over and over and over again - who has a deep-seated hatred for white people, or the white culture, I don’t know what it is." Fox's senior vice president for programming, Bill Shine, not only gave Beck a pass for such awful words, he signaled that the network condones such talk from all their commenters. Shine told TV Newser, "And as with all commentators in the cable news arena, he is given the freedom to express his opinions." Of course, we've been writing for years about the blatant bigotry of Sean Hannity. Now we know what we've long suspected: that there's at least one sympatico mindset higher up.
