Fox News Contributor Ralph Peters: Taliban Should Kill Captured U.S. Soldier If He Walked Away From His Post
Reported by Ellen - July 20, 2009 -
Julie Banderas interviewed Fox News contributor, “strategic analyst” Lt. Col. Ralph Peters last night (7/19/09) about the capturing of U.S. soldier Bowe Bergdahl by the Taliban in Afghanistan. “How do we get him back safely?” Banderas asked Peters. Peters alleged that Berghdahl deserted his unit and, even worse, had collaborated with the enemy during a video recently released by the Taliban in which an obviously fearful Bergdahl called for Americans to bring the soldiers home. Peters’ shocking answer: “If (Bergdahl) walked away from his post and his buddies at wartime... I don't care how hard it sounds, as far as I'm concerned, the Taliban can save us a lot of legal hassles and legal bills.” Peters seems to have a penchant for murder. A few months ago, he suggested the military ought to kill war journalists. <(H/T antman 11 of DailyKos, who also has the transcript of the discussion, and reader Tim).
