Beck’s Guest Longs For A Major Terrorist Attack To “Save” America

Glenn I-love-my-country-so-much-I-would-cry-for-it Beck hosted former CIA analyst Michael Scheuer to attack discuss President Obama’s plan to put 1500 volunteer National Guard volunteers on the Mexican border to step up the counter-drug efforts there. The two were so incensed that Obama would send UNARMED troops that they could not be bothered to explain the president’s view, that he wanted to increase operations on the border while taking into account the Pentagon’s concerns about increased militarization. But Scheuer and Beck - neither of whom live anywhere near the border, and neither of whom seem to have served in the military - decided that they knew better than the Pentagon. So incensed were they that there would not be the kind of militarization they wanted - and to hell with those Americans who actually live and work near the border - that Scheuer declared, “The only chance we have as a country right now is for Osama bin Laden to deploy and detonate a major weapon in the United States... Only Osama can execute an attack which will force Americans to demand that their government protect them effectively, consistently, and with as much violence as necessary.” Beck, who earlier in the segment had implored Americans to use Martin Luther King and Gandhi as role models, indicated he agreed. To Scheuer, Obama’s plan signified that the Democrats want to use the drug/border war “to eventually move against the Second Amerndment.” Near the beginning of the lengthy interview, Scheuer said, “They send our soldiers into harm’s way and they’re targets, not killers. It’s an extraordinary waste of human lives but, of course, the Democrats specialize in that.”
Really? Who sent our troops to Iraq on false pretenses? And how many American soldiers have died since? Funny how that’s never discussed on Fox News.
And it wasn’t brought up by Beck, who then accidentally called Osama “Obama.”
Beck said with melodramatic self-importance, “Michael, let me have a - this is a conversation that I should have with you off the air. Let me have a frank conversation.”
Fear monger alert, code red!
Sure enough, Beck leaned into the camera and with his sincere face, said, “I think we are headed for extraordinarily dangerous times. I think we are... headed toward civil unrest. God knows what!”
Then Beck put his hands together and hammily begged, “Please, please America, keep things under control. And look at Martin Luther King and Gandhi as an example.”
Beck invoking King and Gandhi? Hate mongering alert, code red!
Sure enough, Scheuer went on to say, “The majority of Americans who are just interested in security and getting by are being dictated to, interfered with, and generally neglected in terms of security, by the minority that rules this government.”
And Beck followed suit. His face now arranged in an expression of amazement, he said, “If something happens down there... if I’m a national guardsman and I was protecting myself... I wouldn’t trust that I wouldn’t be thrown into solitary confinement for two months. These people (meaning, of course, the Obama administration) will sell anybody out for their agenda.”
Beck later asked Scheuer, “Do you really, honestly believe that we have come to a place to where those very senior people in the highest offices of the land, Congress and the White House (Beck paused dramatically, as though he couldn’t believe that what he was about to say was possible, it was so shocking - a common tactic of his) really will not do the right thing in the end, that they won’t see the error of their ways?"
“No, sir, they will not,” Scheuer said. “The only chance we have as a country right now is for Osama bin Laden to deploy and detonate a major weapon in the United States. Because it’s gonna take a grass roots, bottom up pressure. Because these politicians prize their office, prize the praise of the media and the Europeans... Only Osama can execute an attack which will force Americans to demand that their government protect them effectively, consistently, and with as much violence as necessary.”
So did “non-violent” Beck object? Heck no! He put on his contemplative face and said, “Which is why I was thinking this weekend, if I were him, that would be the last thing I would do right now.”
Then, he said amicably, “Michael Scheuer, as always, Sir, thank you very much.”
