Al Qaeda Is Influencing Nancy Pelosi, Al Qaeda Is Influencing Nancy Pelosi

Al Qaeda is influencing Nancy Pelosi, Al Qaeda is influencing Nancy Pelosi. No, Al Qaeda is not influencing Nancy Pelosi. Is Al Qaeda influencing Nancy Pelosi? With video.
That was the progression of "news" presented on "Fox and Friends" on Tuesday (February 27, 2007) as the three stooges of news hyped an upcoming segment which they claimed said Al Qaeda is influencing the decisions of House Speaker Nancy Pelosi.
The hyping, twice in the first hour of the show, suggested all sorts of sinister possibilities -- secret campaign contributions to Pelosi, clandestine meetings in foreign countries between Pelosi and robed terrorists.
It was all build up to an interview with Rep. Jim Saxton, R-New Jersey. When he finally got on the screen, the first question from this bunch was, is Al Qaeda really influencing Nancy Pelosi.
His answer, that's not what this story is about. Turns out, Saxton was only claiming that Al Qaeda hopes that news of its attacks on U.S. troops and others will sap the will of the U.S. to fight the war.
Even as Saxton was insisting that he was not saying Al Qaeda is influencing Pelosi, Fox News displayed a banner which read, "Saxton: Is Speaker Pelosi Being Influenced by Al Qaeda?"
Was this just sloppy preparation on the part of the trio of trivia? Or was it a calculated attempt to tie Pelosi to terrorists? Hmmm, let me think about that a minute.
