Neil Cavuto Claims Dennis Hastert "Immediately Removed" Mark Foley After He Learned About Foley's Pedophilia

One of the first segments on Your World w/Neil Cavuto today (December 11, 2006) was about Rep. William Jefferson (D-La) being reelected to a 9th term in congress despite his being the subject of an FBI investigation after $90,000 in cash was found in a freezer in his Washington home. The topic of discussion, featuring radio talk show host Steve Malzberg and Democratic strategist Laura Schwartz, was whether Jefferson's reelection would "backfire on Dems," and in particular on Nancy Pelosi, as if Pelosi was personally responsible for his reelection.
Malzberg was the first to speak and he did what he was supposed to do -- bring today's right-wing talking point to the masses -- so he dragged out names like John Murtha, Alan Mollohan and Alcee Hastings.
Schwartz admitted that "this is a horrible quagmire" for the Democrats, but Pelosi did not elect him." In fact, she said, "the national Democratic party didn't even back him; didn't give him money." She said that after the raid on Jefferson's apartment, Pelosi "immediately removed him from the Ways and Means Committee." She, "didn't try to hide it, didn't try to cover it up."
Cavuto would have none of that fair and balanced talk so he interrupted Schwartz: "But Laura! Laura! Dennis Hastert did the same to Foley in congress..."
Comment: The blog Looking For Someone to Lie to Me reports that Fox is looking for a "fact writer." Cavuto could have used one today because no way in hell did Hastert do "the same to Foley in congress."
