Terror Alert Timing Suspect - on MSNBC, not on FOX

Reported by Chrish - August 20, 2006 -

As noted by Janie and Ellen, FOX News and their masters in the Republican party made much political hay out of the alleged terror plot uncovered in England ten days ago, which knocked progressive Democrat Ned Lamont off the airwaves and the front pages. They used the situation to campaign against Lamont in particular and Democrats in general as "soft on terror." What luck! What timing!

A lot of people are questioning the timing of the release of terror scares and the raising of terror alert levels, as they seem to come shortly after Democrats are making positive news or conversely, at times of bubbling Republican scandal. MSNBC's Keith Olbermann, nemisis of FOX's Bill O'Reilly, has compiled documentation of news items and subsequent terror-mongering, which have proven to be overblown or false alarms.

The pattern is clear. Larry Johnson goes so far as to call the Olbermann piece "conclusive, indisputable evidence that George Bush and his minions have used bogus terrorist threats to distract public attention from embarrassing political news."
