Bush Changes It From 'Jobs Americans Won't Do' To 'Jobs Americans Aren't Doing'

Reported by Donna - May 18, 2006

Today after the Fox News Alert on officials looking for Jimmy Hoffa in Michigan and the breaking news about one of the Duke rape suspects, we had a Fox News Alert that Fox had a taped recording with Carl Cameron and the president talking about illegal aliens, border safety and the telephone tracking system where millions of Americans phones were being checked for patterns.

The president of course denied that his plan was an amnesty plan but a guest worker program. He said we are a nation of laws and we are a welcoming nation and that these illegal immigrants would be doing jobs Americans weren't doing. He repeated this saying two more times in his next two sentences - 'jobs Americans weren't doing.'

Cameron also asked him about the phone trolling that was reported in USA Today. The president said he wasn't going to discuss any programs they are doing, he was not going to talk about any ideas. He did say he wanted to assure the American people that he was protecting their civil liberties.

Comments: I'm sure Rove suggested the change from 'jobs Americans won't do' to 'jobs that Americans aren't doing.' I'm sure if these jobs paid a living wage they would be scooped up by Americans. As for his remarks (or non remarks) on the telephone call tracking system, it made me have a flashback to the days of Nixon and the poster that said, "Would You Buy A Used Car From This Man?"
