FOX spinning Google order to turn over data as "win" for customer privacy

Reported by Chrish - March 19, 2006

FOX News will always put the Bush administration's agenda ahead of straightforward objectivity, for example continually referring to Bush's illegal warrantless domestic spying as "the terrorist surveillance program." Once again they subtly support the creep of government intrusion into our personal lives, assuring readers that a court order to turn over data from Internet searches is really a "win" for privacy.

While most news agencies declared that Google was ordered to turn some data to the government, an unsettling prospect, FOX News used a misleading headline to not upset its devotees.
Taken individually these incidents may appear minor, but seen as a tapestry of half-truths and misdirections it's plain to see their partisan support of this administration.
