What Did Fox News Say About the Gigantic US Trade Deficit?

Reported by Melanie - February 10, 2006

The cover Fox News gives George Bush is never more obvious than on a day like today (February 10, 2006) when the US government announced that the 2005 trade deficit ("your tax dollars") reached $725.8 b-b-billion, almost exactly twice the deficit in 2001. (For those of you with short memories, George Bush took office in 2001.)

How did Neil Cavuto, Fox's "premiere business news" anchor report this mind-blowing news? Well, I'm not sure he did, but 45 minutes into his show, during a roundtable discussion about the horrors of raising taxes on the rich, he snuck this in: "The government owes a lotta money across the globe."

Comment: Got that? Fox hopes not.
