Alabama Judge Moore to run for Governor

Reported by Chrish - October 4, 2005

Brit Hume on Special Report today 10/03/05 reported that ousted Alabama Chief Justice Roy Moore, removed from office for defying a federal court's order to remove a monument of the Judeo-Christian Ten Commandments from the State Supreme Court building where he worked, is running as a Republican to be governor of the state.

Removed from office in 2003, "today Moore promised to remain faithful to those views:"

Read Moore, on video: "I will defend the right of every citizen of this state, include judges, coaches, teachers, city, county, and state officials, to acknowledge God as sovereign source of law, liberty, and government." Applause and cheers are heard.

Back to Brit, who tells us what's up next.

Comment: The video of Moore's speech was unnecessary to the report, as was the applause and cheering afterwards, but it reinforces the Bush-base in their belief that the laws (and by extension, the courts) should be based on their religion.
