Fox's Brit Hume Lies About Democratic Opposition to Bush Judicial Nominees

Reported by Melanie - September 13, 2005

Aside from the last seven minutes, Your World w/Neil Cavuto was preempted today (September 13, 2005) by the John Roberts confirmation hearings. When the Senate took a break, at 4:50 p.m. EDT, Fox used the occasion to do a little lying about Democrats (so what else is new?). Brit Hume said Democrats might as well "let this guy go through" because then they can say, "look, we're not opposing this President's every nominee." If, "you've let one of them go, it's a lot easier to argue that you're not being unreasonable than it is if you oppose everybody in sight."

Comment: It's hard to get good help these days. The fact is: Ninety-Five Percent Of Bush's Nominees Brought Up for a Floor Vote Confirmed, Higher Than The 81 Percent Confirmed During Clinton's First Four Years.
