The Morning After Pill Becomes The Abortion Pill On Fox

Reported by Donna - July 20, 2005

A small, but significant segment appeared on Studio B today. Greg Kelly (substituting for Shepard Smith) did a story on the morning after pill.

However, on Fox, the morning after pill became the 'abortion pill'.

Calling it the abortion pill and also having a banner that read 'abortion pill' sends a strong message to Fox watchers. This pill is widely known as the morning after pill.

The story was to tell everyone that the FDA was warning that there may be dangers out there if you take the morning after pill. Five women have died since 2000, but the makers of the pill say that these deaths were unrelated to the medicine. I bet we could find 5 people in the last 5 years who have all took aspirin and died. An actual report linking the deaths is needed.

Comment: I guess I don't have to comment -- I'll report, you decide.

Addendum: Upon further research, it appears there is a 'morning after' pill and an 'abortion pill'. Fox was speaking about RU-486, which is the so called 'abortion pill'. So, I apologize for that but will remain with the story as Fox presened the story in a confusing manner that most people would think they were talking about the morning after pill. I think it was a definite 'blurring' of the lines. So, I'll leave again with, I'll report, you decide. Thanks.
