Karl Rove and Fox's Missing Decade

Reported by Nancy - July 20, 2005 -

On Dayside yesterday (7/19) guest host Juliet Huddy interviewed Wayne Slater, co-author of "Bush's Brain", the story of Karl Rove and George Bush's history of working together. During the interview, Fox put statistics on the screen concerning Rove's work for the Bushes and the Republican party, including:
"1973 – 1974:  Rove was an Aide to George H.W. Bush"
"1980:  Rove advised George H.W. Bush's Presidential Campaign"
"1984:  Rove handled direct mail for Reagan-Bush"
"Karl Rove has worked for George W. Bush since 1993"

Comment: It's quite interesting to notice that 9 years of Rove's work has been conveniently left out of this mini-biography. They fail to mention that in 1992, Rove was fired from then-President George H.W. Bush's re-election campaign for leaking a negative story to the press concerning Bush fundraiser Robert Mosbacher. Not only was Rove fired for leaking a story to the press, the "press" just so happened to be reporter Bob Novak, whom we all know is the reporter that wrote the story in which Rove has been implicated, outing CIA agent Valerie Plame.
