An Election The World May Not Witness?
Reported by Ellen - January 26, 2005
Today on Studio B with Sheppard Smith, he reported live again from the Green Zone in Baghdad.
Smith announced that everything was 'locked down' in Iraq. The 'No fly Zones' were in place and you couldn't travel freely.
Smith went on to say that on Sunday there will be an election that "we may not see."
Comment: If a tree falls in the forest......What is Smith trying to say here? That an election will be held, but there may not be anyone to witness it?
Later on in the Studio B program, Smith spoke with Rich Lowry from The National Review.
Lowry pointed out that the United States always has money available to help out all candidates and parties whenever any country is holding elections for the first time.
Then came the point he wanted to stress. He stated that even the 'Iraqi Communist Party' had received help and support from the United States.
Smith took this opportunity to jump on this point and quickly interjected that this would 'prove' that the United States isn't just helping those people who it wants to see in power.
Comment: The story seemed to be 'framed' around this point -- to show the world that we are not placing a puppet government in Iraq -- why, golly, we're even helping the Communists. (I'm sure the Communists will be a major player in the Iraqi government).
