Interesting What they Don't Cover

Reported by Melanie - August 24, 2004 -

At 2:05 p.m. ET today (August 23, 2004), CNN and C-Span went live to the Pentagon for a briefing by the "Schlesinger Commission." The Schlesinger Commission was convened by Donald Rumsfeld to investigate prisoner abuse at the Abu Ghraib prison in Baghdad. The Commission appeared today to release its report and to brief reporters on its findings.

CNN covered the event from 2:05 p.m. ET to 2:15 p.m. ET., through the opening remarks of the commission's chairman, James Schlesinger. MSNBC is covering the Olympics. Fox didn't touch the briefing. Instead, it aired segments on the Swift Boat Veterans for Truth, a missing Utah Boy Scout, the couple shot on a Sonoma County, California beach, and the Peterson trial.

COMMENT: Fox didn't cover this event because it didn't want its viewers to hear any bad news about the Bush administration.
