Hannity Keeps The Story Alive
Reported by Deborah - August 9, 2004 -
Hannity just won't let go of the Swift Boat Story no matter how many times, it's discredited. Lanny Davis and Barry Richard, were on hand to debate the issue,
but they agreed that the ad was wrong and the Swift Boat Vets were not credible
That didn't stop Hannity, who just wanted to keep the story alive.
8/9/04 9PM ET Hannity&Colmes
Alan Colmes opened the segment with a well organized and concise analysis of all the facts that discredit the Swift Boat Vets. Barry Richard, Republican attorney, was in agreement with Colmes.
Hannity comes in determined to be antagonistic with Lanny Davis.
"You weren"t there. You use a Clintonesque parsing of words. Don't they deserve the right to tell their story? Are they lying?"
"You want their voice silenced. Even though it might contradict your Beloved John Kerry just like it the Clinton years?
Not only did these tirades make no sense, but Barry Richard was stone silent with a look of disbelief on his face.
Then after the break Hannity just had to do his "Kerry is a war criminal" routine.
Colmes shot right back, bringing up Bush's military experience as well as the
smear campaign on John McCain from the same Bush supporter from Houston.
This Swift Boat story should be very over but Hannity and Fox will feed the beast as long as possible. Tomorrow night there will be another segment and Fox's credibility will go down another step.
