I believe that West did exactly as he intended.” to mean that Mr. Allen West, a conservative African American, is prejudice against blacks? Wow! And I guess because Thomas Sowell speaks against ideas like Affirmative Action minority quotas, he is also prejudice and against the Equal Rights Amendment? In fact Mr. Sowell, a preeminent African American economist, is known to refer to reverse race-descrimination in his prolific writings, that is of black discrimination against whites as a real problem in our society today. Seems to me the real prejudice is against conservative and moral ideas.

Two points, I quote Allen’s words"
“Take your message of equality of achievement, take your message of economic dependency, take your message of enslaving the entrepreneurial will and spirit of the American people somewhere else.”

Now I believe these words can be taken in one of two ways; allow me to clarify:

1) We don’t want to hear what you have to say here in America!
or
2) We’ve heard what you’ve said but reject it!

Now if we take his intent was the former then he’s very much un-American. If we take him to mean the latter then he’s not against the American idea of “free speech” but against the implication of that particular speech. Therefore taking his next sentence “You can take it to Europe, you can take it to the bottom of the sea, you can take it to the North Pole, but get the hell out of the United States of America.” …he is simply saying we as Americans reject your propositions! Why? Precisely because these ideas are foreign to the traditional American mindset that made us the great country we are.

Thus “equality of achievement” can be contrasted to equality of opportunity; while “economic dependency,” or government based welfare system that hands out without regard for responsibility can be contrasted to the subsidarity principle of helping people at the lowest possible level, starting at: family, moving up through friends, churches, private charities, businesses, city, state and the last resort federal level; thereby holding those being helped to a greater degree of accountability; and finally “enslaving the entrepreneurial will and spirit,” or government interference in the economic market contrasted to a market based on individual free will with minimum regulation and restrictions, and a maximum of personal responsibillity for the risks we take.

Just because Col. Allen rejects ideas he dislikes does not mean he’s closed his mind to hearing and understanding what they are… in fact how can one reject what they do not know? I suspect he could have put this differently, less offensive to the PC mindset he speaks to, but if liberal/progressives want conservative/traditionalists to acquire thicker skin… shouldn’t they also exhibit it?

West pretty much lost the vote of the people who live in Palm Beach twice- once for how that mentality hurts tourism (even a conservative hates the man who loses him money), and again for that he forgot how many liberals and moderates are there.

Once again- West can be a rockstar all he wants, he’s pretty much lost the vote. He’ll need to pretty much have Broward locked to even have a chance, which isn’t likely if I’m reading the reactions right.

I live clean across the country from his district and I can already hear him losing from here. Let’s talk about his prospects later down the road now…

This former Lieutenant Colonel needs to remember that we don’t separate those buried at Arlington National Cemetery by who they voted for.

The sad thing about this self hating person is that most of his constituents, whom he is kissing up to in the far right looney toon wing of the GOP (Greedy Olde Plutocrats) party, would never have him over for dinner or want him to meet their daughters. He is a part of the head long race to the bottom with racists who only tolerate his presence as their token of how non-racist they pretend to be so they can peel away a dozen or so fellow self haters from the Democatic party.

I called West’s DC office and inquired into his wearing of Marine Corps/Navy jump wings. At first they didn’t know what I was talking about, so I told them to look at his official congressional photo.

So Rep West. I’m calling you out until prove you made the 5 following jumps under Official Marine Corps orders to qualify yourself eligible to wear such wings? Army jumps don’t count, except for first 5 that you made at jump school!
The following 5 jumps are to be under Navy/ Marine supervision only for the badge!
1. Combat equipment jump
2. 2 Combat equipment jumps, at night
3. Jumps from 2 different military aircraft
