Last night, Sean Hannity hosted Patrick Moore, introduced merely as “co-founder of Greenpeace,” who has found “zero evidence that the earth is warming because of human activity.” But for some reason, Hannity failed to mention that Moore’s more recent resumé – like, for the last 20 years – has him as a spokesman for the very industries fingered by real climate change experts.
According to Greenpeace, Moore is not a co-founder. The organization says on its website, “Although Mr. Moore played a significant role in Greenpeace Canada for several years, he did not found Greenpeace.”
But wait, Greenpeace has more to say about Moore:
Patrick Moore is a Paid Spokesperson for the Nuclear Industry
In April 2006, the Nuclear Energy Institute, the principal lobby for the nuclear industry, launched the Clean And Safe Energy Coalition and installed former Bush Administration EPA Administrator Christine Todd Whitman and Mr. Moore as its co-chairs. The Clean and Safe Energy Coalition was part of a public relations project spearheaded by the public relations giant Hill & Knowlton as part of its estimated $8 million contract with the nuclear industry.
Patrick Moore Does Not Represent Greenpeace
For more than 20 years, Mr. Moore has been a paid spokesman for a variety of polluting industries, including the timber, mining, chemical and the aquaculture industries. Most of these industries hired Mr. Moore only after becoming the focus of a Greenpeace campaign to improve their environmental performance. Mr. Moore has now worked for polluters for far longer than he ever worked for Greenpeace. Greenpeace opposes the use of nuclear energy because it is a dangerous and expensive distraction from real solutions to climate change.
Media Matters has a good take down of the substance of Moore’s comments. They also note that he has no real expertise in climate science.
But despite all this, Moore seems to have spent almost all day on Fox shilling for polluters as a “co-founder of Greenpeace.” Media Matters caught him on Fox & Friends, The Real Story with Gretchen Carlson and Fox Business’ Varney & Company yesterday. All before his prime time visit to Hannity.
Yet in his introduction, Hannity described Moore's appearance as "an exclusive interview you'll see only here tonight on Hannity."
Furthermore, Moore made it sound as though he was only motivated by a sense of personal outrage at Greenpeace and others concerned about man-made global warming. He said, "I just had to come out and express what I have been studying for the last 25 years." Moore also claimed he left Greenpeace because they "turned sharply to the political left and began to adopt positions that I could not accept from my scientific background." That background, according to Moore, included a Ph.D. in ecology and being "very well versed" in climate change.
Not surprisingly, Hannity didn't ask what "very well versed" actually meant. He was too busy prompting Moore to attack Hannity's favorite targets for having an "agenda" over climate change.
Today there are 7 Billion 150 Million people on Earth and Millions of autos.
It is Ridiculous to Believe that 6 Billion more People burning fossil fuels for electricity and heating, deforestation to raise energy intensive cattle etc. and grow, harvest and transport food crops, consuming manufactured goods, breathing out carbon dioxide, driving Millions of autos and trucks with their exhaust, and with 35,000 passenger jets overflying the U. S. each Day spewing jet fuel exhaust at 30,000 feet…. " Have .Had No Effect" on Carbon in the Atmosphere and warming the Earth!
He and the other Fauxites are a danger to society.
Anyone who intentionally misleads a person, or an audience is a sadistic person. Hannocchio has no shame of lying to his audience.
The best way to stop this clown is to take the truth to the streets of America, and on all talk radio shows, both nationally and locally.
The Stop Hannity Express encourages everyone to post on social media (Facebook, Twitter, etc.) the truth about this phony Greenpeace mouthpiece. Don’t let this Long Island Lolito get away with his latest attempt to lie to his audience.
Sometimes I feel very sorry for Fox viewers for being lied to so outrageously about so many things. No wonder they join the Tea Party.
He reached this pinnacle not by being a loudmouth blowhard (think Limbaugh) or a raving psychotic (Levin, Savage). Instead, Slanthead as several methods of trying to fill the minds of his ever-dwindling audience.
In this post, Ellen shows us Hannity’s oft-used trick of omission — simply never mention the truth. Why let the facts — that Patrick Moore’s connection to Greenpeace is thinner than a spider’s thread — get in the way of yet another opportunity for Slanthead to deny climate change.
On other occasions, Hannocchio will tell us a bold-face lie. As he did the other day on his radio “campaign” to get every unemployed Amerikan a job in the oil industry (he claims it will get every poor person off of food stamps and earning $100k). Speaking with former Shell CEO John Hofmeister, Slanthead stated flatly: “I know for a fact that fracking does not cause a single environmental problem!” (Can Hannocchio’s nose grow even further?)
If you’ve never heard him push his drill-everywhere, frack everywhere-agenda, you should know that there’s not a square yard of Amerikan soil where Slanthead does not want a well drilled. Same for every bit of offshore waters, especially off Alaska. But for sure, we’d never see a drilling platform in sight of Hannity’s 17-room McMansion (with the underground survival bunker) on North Shore’s Centre Island, or off Florida’s Gulf coast within the view of Hannity’s Moraya Bay condo in Naples.
If Slanthead had his way, Amerika would triple its consumption of fossil fuels. No problem, humans don’t cause climate change!
A third way this slime bag propagates misinformation is through his stupidity. Like the time a few weeks ago, when speaking with his “official Hannity meteorogist” Joe Bastardi (who earned his nickname of Pinhead after a career as a college wrestler and bodybuilder which shrunk more than half of his cerebral cortex).
“The polar bears at the South Pole aren’t suffering because of global warming,” claimed Prof. Hannity. Even Bastardi knew that there are no polar bears at the South Pole and corrected Slanthead.
[Maybe Hannity is indeed deteriorating mentally. Just the other day, he referred to the “New Jersey Nets.” He was again corrected on the air, this time by his Washington reporter Jamie Dupree who told Slanthead the Nets moved to Brooklyn in 2012. “Whatever…” replied Hannity.]
Anyway, dumbo, there may be no polar bears in the future at the North Pole. That’s because the ice is is melting up there. It’s WARMER there, and that’s what is disrupting the polar vortex of cold air, sending bursts much farther south. This is the real, scientific consensus [did you ever hear of Prof. Michio Kaku? Nah.. didn’t think so], Slanthead, and this is why this Winter has been unusually cold and snowy.
Global warming is real, causing major disruptions in weather patterns and most of it is caused by humans. Why don’t you tell your lies to the survivors of those horrific tornadoes, hurricanes (the ocean temp off the Atlantic coast during the Sandy surge was about 7 degrees warmer than normal), the typhoons, flooding, etc.
Tell your lies to the farmers in California… tell them the worst drought in over 100 years is a myth. Hell, you don’t care, do you Seanny, you’ve never eaten broccoli in your life.
But wait, suppose the grasslands west of the Mississippi dry up again this year? Suppose beef production falls by 50% or more? Watcha gonna eat then, Hannity? Oh wait, there’s probably no real beef in a Big Mac anyway!!
[BTW, Hannity’s pathetically-shrinking radio audience in the NYC metro area couldn’t hear the first hour or two his radio crap on Friday — it’s Spring Training and WOR has its priorities; go Mets!]
