Be thankful that the ever-vigilant Todd Starnes is guarding our children's morals. Fox's culture warrior has taken time out from detailing the persecution of Christians in America, to fume over an explicit German sex-education book - without bothering to inform us that the publishers are discontinuing it.
“Textbook Teaches 5 Year Olds How to Achieve Orgasm” blares the headline to his fox.com article. To illustrate, Starnes quotes some text from the book, called Where Do I Come From? “When it’s so good that it can’t get any better, Lisa and Lars have an orgasm. And the vagina and penis feel nice and tingly and warm.”(Oh, horrors! This book is telling kids that sex is fun? How dare they?) The Daily Mail article from which he presumably obtained this quote also includes illustrations from the book. Needless to say, he didn’t reproduce those in his article.
It's noteworthy that Starnes played down a couple of key points in the article. First, the book is published in Germany (and it was first published in 1991, so he's taken his time about getting outraged, nicht wahr?) so even Obama’s army of rabid-Marxist schoolteachers will not be forcing it onto your kid’s curriculum any time soon. Not that that cheers Fox Nation posters up at all:
Finally – and this is something Todzo never mentions in his article – the book is now unlikely to reach anyone, in Germany or elsewhere. The publisher is withdrawing it after receiving complaints from parents. Instead of telling us this, Starnes informs us that according to the Mail, "the controversy comes as British educators have been encouraged to introduce pornography in the classroom."
What oh what are we going to do about Europe, gentle reader? Build a wall around the US to keep these evil influences out?
The masses wants to know what other “books” Toddy has been reading lately.

[lawyers for the Romeike famly will] focus on a parent’s right to teach their children at home, which isn’t allowed in the Romeikes’ native Germany. There, home-schooling families face fines, jail time and even loss of custody if their children are not enrolled in a traditional school.
“The Romeikes’ lawyers will also talk about their right to teach the Bible during the school day — an angle that has spurred more than 100,000 U.S. conservatives to sign a petition to let the family stay in Tennessee, where they’ve made their home since 2008.”
