Hannity And Rove Find An Excuse To Play A Slew Of GOP Campaign Ads

Ever on the lookout for new and creative ways to promote Republicans and make it look like news, I'm sure, the Hannity show trotted out Karl Rove Thursday night (7/7/11) to “analyze” 2012 campaign commercials. Coincidentally, all the 2012 campaign commercials right now are from Republicans. Rove even noted that more people would see any given ad by airing it on Hannity than would likely see it as an ad in the entire state of Iowa. Hannity graciously said, “I don’t know if I like that much power you’re giving me – but I’ll take it!” Yes, I’m sure neither of them thought about such a thing beforehand.

Tim Pawlenty Feeling The Heat Over His Debate Performance? Hannity Republican Rehab Helps Explain It Away!

Who couldn’t have seen this one coming? Tim Pawlenty has been criticized on Fox News lately for having first gone after 2012 rival Mitt Romney’s “ObamneyCare” on Fox News Sunday and then giving Romney a pass the next night in a GOP candidates’ debate. So as just about any Republican feeling the harsh glare of the spotlight does, Pawlenty ran to Sean Hannity Thursday night (6/16/11) for a dose of Republican Rehab. Hannity didn’t just offer up a softball interview, he helped explain away Pawlenty’s gaffe.

Bill O’Reilly Admits He “Ups The Game” On Television

Bill O’Reilly may really be looking out for you but at least part of the concern is amped up for television, O'Reilly has admitted. In a heated debate with Karl Rove over the role of personality – or lack thereof in Tim Pawlenty’s case – in presidential candidates, O’Reilly proclaimed Pawlenty’s candidacy all but dead because he doesn’t know how to “wave his arms” and get attention the way TV master O’Reilly does.

Unlike With Palin, Chris Wallace Gives Tim Pawlenty A Grilling

I don’t mean to criticize a moderator for asking tough substantive questions of a presidential candidate but you have to wonder why Chris Wallace was so hard on Tim Pawlenty and so much easier on Sarah Palin. As other sites have noted, Wallace fiercely challenged Pawlenty’s economic plan. Wallace even dismissed Pawlenty’s joke about Bill O’Reilly playing the race card when he called Pawlenty “vanilla.” Yet compare this interview to Wallace’s far less challenging questions for Sarah Palin as she discussed how “President Palin” would handle various policy matters. Wallace even allowed Palin to whitewash her ignorance-revealing gaffe about Paul Revere -- then later gushed about her “boffo performance." Fair and balanced? I don’t think so – but it’s not because Wallace was too hard-hitting with Pawlenty.
