Megyn Kelly hosted a special midnight show that was supposed to be about the latest developments in Ferguson, MO. But when the protests remained peaceful, Fox showed little interest in discussing why or interviewing people working to make that happen. The only thing Kelly seemed to care about regarding Ferguson were some impolitic comments about the case by Missouri's Democratic governor, Jay Nixon. That, and a failed attempt to smear Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson.
As I previously noted, Fox had already made Ferguson about Nixon before Kelly's late-night special.
But you'd think that in an hour-long special, somebody might have interviewed a law enforcement official, some community leaders, some protesters. In fact, at one point, reporter Mike Tobin Kelly File viewers that the police have been "using some of the religious leaders and community leaders as mediators who go and approach these people when they get fired up and talk 'em down. And we've watched it a couple of times."
But the only community leader interviewed was a minister who had apparently told The Kelly File producers he had an axe to grind with Sharpton and Jackson for using Ferguson as a "photo op." Unfortunately for Kelly, the man had a change of heart once he got on the air.
