Ruh-Roh! Busted Iranian Terror Plot Foils (For Now) Fox News Witch Hunt Against Eric Holder
In case you missed it, the Justice Department just announced it has foiled an Iranian plot to assassinate the Saudi ambassador to the United States and bomb the Saudi embassy in Washington, D.C. Given Fox News' burning hatred for Iran and the network's fever for aggression against Iran, you'd think the "fair and balanced" folks would be focused like a laser beam on this news. Not so fast (or furious)!

What Roger Ailes Really Admitted To Newsweek About Fox News Bias
Newsweek’s Howard Kurtz has a lengthy piece about Roger Ailes’ efforts to “quietly reposition” Fox News Channel. In a subtitle, Kurtz notes, “First, Ailes dialed back the Tea Party talk. Now he’s turning the GOP race into a political X-Factor—and steering the election agenda one more time.” Translation: Ailes is gearing up for its Elect-A-Republican-In-2012 mission by playing Simon Cowell with the GOP presidential contestants. Although Ailes seemed to own up to Fox News’ bias when he said, “We are the balance” to the liberal bias he accuses every other network of having, Kurtz also makes it clear that Ailes is very deliberately stirring the pot of the 2012 election. Any seasoned Fox News watcher has every reason to believe the new "repositioning" will follow whatever Republican candidate wins the presidential nomination.

U.S. Justice Department Reportedly Preparing Subpoenas of News Corporation
The United States Department of Justice is preparing subpoenas to News Corporation as part of an initial investigation into whether the media conglomerate violated the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act. The subpoenas need to be approved personally by Attorney General Eric Holder, Fox News reported, in order to go into effect. This is separate from the FBI probe already underway into whether or not News Corp. did any phone hacking in the United States. Although Fox News has taken some comical steps to spin the scandal, and I'll bet we can expect later reprisals against Holder if the subpoenas go forward, Studio B's lengthy, mostly straightforward report on the latest developments reflects the seriousness of the situation for its parent company. Video after the jump.

Fox News Sunday Helps Make Palin Look More Presidential And Helps Whitewash Her Paul Revere Flub
While Fox News continues to allow Sarah Palin to remain on its payroll, Chris Wallace and Fox News Sunday today helped boost her potential presidential candidacy and all but declared her a candidate. After a two-part interview in which Palin discussed what a “President Palin” would do regarding economic policy and in which Wallace offered no challenge to Palin’s attempt to whitwash her shocking ignorance of Paul Revere, Wallace gushed about her “boffo performance” and how like a serious candidate she seemed. He also kept quiet as Palin gratuitously attacked colleague Shepard Smith.
