Brian Kilmeade Supports Spying On Muslim Mosques Which "Some Say" Breed Terrorists

As part of the "Islamophobia Network," described in the Center for American Progress report "Fear Inc," Fox "News" does love to play the fear of radical Islam card. The report also cites Dr. Zuhdi Jasser, an American Muslim and founder of a website devoted to fighting "Islamofascism," as a "validator" in that his claim to have inside knowledge of radical Islam allows him to "validate and authenticate manufactured myths about Muslims and Islam." This morning, Fox & Friends brought in Jasser for a discussion about the American mosque where Islamic radical Anwar al Awlaki worshipped. According to the chums on the curvy couch, "some say" it should be closed because "some say" it's creating terrorists. The "some" appear to be Robert Spencer, Pam Geller, and all the other Islamophobes cited in "Fear Inc." as they have all called for the closure of this mosque. While Jasser didn't agree with the "some," the official Fox News message that was conveyed, in this "Safe at Home" segment, was that this Fall Church VA mosque might be a place where those evil "Mooselims" are being radicalized and should be closed. Jasser also got to bray about the dangers of Islamic radicalization. And as Brian Kilmeade so astutely suggested, it could be happening at any and all mosques. Are ya scared yet?

Tell Congress And Rep. Issa: Hold Murdoch Accountable

Earlier this week, Republican Congressman Darrell Issa, chairman of the House Oversight Committee, assured told Fox News host Bret Baier that he would not investigate allegations that Fox’s parent company News Corp. hacked into 9/11 victims’ phones and/or violated the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act. This, despite the requests of Democratic Ranking Member Rep. Elijah Cummings along with other members of the Committee. Among Issa’s other excuses, he didn’t want to pick on any media. But Fox News has long worked in tandem with Issa so his refusal to investigate News Corp. comes as no surprise. That’s why public pressure is needed. Please join with us in supporting Free Press’ campaign to tell Congress: Hold Murdoch Accountable and sign a letter to Issa.

Fox News’ Dick Cheney Infomercial That Just Happens To Swipe At President Obama

In advance of Dick Cheney’s memoirs coming out, Fox News devoted an entire hour showcasing Cheney recently (8/19/11). Need I say there were rose-colored glasses for Cheney? And yet somehow host Bret Baier managed to work in some swipes at President Obama. The special was called “Dick Cheney Revealed” but it should have been called “Dick Cheney Touched Up.”

Glenn Beck Goes Postal – Claims POTUS Is Creating Secret Mail Carrier Army

While his Fox News show may be winding down, it appears that Glenn Beck doesn’t plan to go out with a whimper, or without advancing new wacky conspiracy theories. This wouldn’t be the first time that Beck has claimed that President Obama is trying to create a secret “Civilian Defense Force” to spy on ‘Merkins. On his June 15th show Beck took it one step further: The mail carriers who work for the U.S. Postal Service are the latest recruits to Obama’s secret, private army. Watch:

Hannity Dismisses Patriot Act Concerns, Obsesses About People Seeing Him In A Speedo Via Google Earth

Sean Hannity has been in a tizzy lately over the news that the town of Riverhead, N.Y. has used Google Earth to find unpermitted swimming pools in their community. Hannity doesn’t just feel that it’s government intrusion onto private property, he seems most concerned that someone will see him and his “big fat stomach” laying around his fancy swimming pool. In the first place, Hannity’s complaint is wildly hypocritical given that he is gung ho for warrantless wiretapping and gaga for the Patriot Act. In fact, Hannity loves the Patriot Act so much, he wouldn’t even let his Democratic guest bring it up for comparison. But Earth to Hannity: You might want to consider redirecting your anger to Google instead of the government of Riverhead. Unlike the federal government which uses its own resources to eavesdrop on your phone calls, snoop into your library records, etc., Riverhead is merely using a free service available to everyone. In other words, we can all probably see your tum-tum in the lounge chair just as easily as they can.
