Snowflake Sean Hannity just can’t get over the fact that Ted Koppel said he’s “bad for America” on CBS News Sunday Morning last week. First, Hannity ranted on Twitter for two days. Then he complained on his Hannity TV show for four days. Yesterday, he whined for 11 minutes on the MediaBuzz show.
In case you missed it, Hannity made a brief appearance in Koppel’s report on how partisan/ideological news has driven a gap between Americans that may be impossible to bridge. It included this exchange:
HANNITY: You think we’re bad for America? You think I’m bad for America?
KOPPEL: Yeah.
[…]
You know why? Because you’re very good at what you do …
You have attracted people who are determined that ideology is more important than facts.
Hannity’s Twitter tantrum started that night when Hannity began whining that his interview had been edited so that it was too brief:
Fake "edited" news. I did about a 45 minute interview with CBS. They ran less than 2. Why did Ted cut out my many examples of media bias? https://t.co/prynzE2yLQ
— Sean Hannity (@seanhannity) March 26, 2017
On March 27, Hannity began demanding that CBS release the unedited interview. Even though Hannity never said that the clip CBS aired distorted his views or that a fuller context was needed. Other than the fact that Hannity claimed Koppel did not want “substantive answers.”
Will @CBSNews release the 45 plus minute unedited tape? I doubt it. They will hear Ted say he's not including substantive answers.

Hannity even put off slobbering over Donald Trump and made this “injustice” the top story on his show that night.
HANNITY: Wow! He’s kind of calling me a liar. And then he’s saying, “Well, you and all these opinion shows”—he’s giving his opinion! Only 70 seconds, that’s it, ended up airing.
Now, I guess people like Ted Koppel feel you, the American people, can’t distinguish between opinion and news. That’s kind of like Obama, remember? He said people clinging to their God, guns and religion, or Hillary Clinton who said ignorant, irredeemable deplorables.
Now, beyond this interview being a total waste of my time, it is a flagrant example of what I call edited fake news. Now, remember, CBS News is the former home of Dan Rather. Remember? He was forced to resign after reporting an inflammatory fake news story about President George W. Bush. Rather used fake documents to bolster his story.
Now, CBS News is also the former home of Sharyl Attkisson. Remember? She there was marginalized at CBS and stonewalled, and they wouldn’t show a lot of her investigative journalism into President Obama and his administration. Is that agenda-driven?
And now they produce a package taking shots at me all while prominently displaying their dishonesty, their bias and total hypocrisy here for every viewer to see!
Now, Ted’s interview with me wasn’t about substance. It wasn’t about getting my real opinion.
Hannity continued ranting in this vein at great length. But, he must have figured the viewers needed to hear it all again. So the next night, he “asked” what CBS is hiding by not releasing the entire interview.
HANNITY: So, last night in this program, I told you a CBS NEWS veteran, Ted Koppel, said I was, quote, “bad for America.” They only aired 70 seconds of what was like a 50-minute-sit-down interview that was taped earlier this month. Well, this was not the first time that CBS has been called out for editing interviews.
[…]
What do they have to hide? Anyway, we reached out to the network today, but shockingly, have not heard back.
The problem with this argument is that Hannity knows what happened in his own interview. So he was in a perfect position to tell us what was “hidden.”
But the next night? Hannity was back at it again.
HANNITY: Coming up, we keep asking CBS to release my 45 minute plus interview with Ted Koppel. They say to “The New York Times” they’re not going to do it. What are they afraid of?
[…]
Welcome back to “Hannity.” So CBS News still won’t respond to our request to release my full of 45, 50 minute interview with Ted Koppel. By the way, they told The New York Times they won’t to release it. This past weekend they aired 70 seconds of nearly hour sit down. Tonight we want to show you another example of CBS edited fake news.
The night after that, Hannity took a little dig at Koppel:
HANNITY: We’re not slicing and dicing like Ted Koppel here. We’re playing it in its entirety!
But Hannity still wasn’t satisfied. On Sunday, he took up 11 minutes of MediaBuzz with the same whine to a very sympathetic Howard Kurtz:
HANNITY: He only ran 70 seconds of 50+ minutes of tape.
Hannity’s argument in all cases seemed to be that he “exposes” news the so-called liberal media won’t. On MediaBuzz, he started in on an old chestnut, a campaign event held for then-candidate Barack Obama by Bill Ayers. Hannity has been trying to turn this nothingburger into a scandal that suggests Obama is a terrorist supporter since he first ran for office. It’s even more ridiculous now that Obama is out of office and Hannity can’t point to one incident to suggest that Obama was some kind of Manchurian candidate (while ignoring the mounting evidence that Hannity’s beloved Donald Trump is).
In fact, the Ayers example serves more to prove Koppel’s point (placing ideology over facts) than Hannity’s contention that he provides a legitimate news service.
Hannity also sang the praises of free and open debate – despite the fact that his show features the same cast of like-minded Trump sycophants nearly every night.
But, other than to point out that it’s common for television news to edit down a lengthy interview into a brief soundbite, Kurtz barely challenged anything.
Get out your hankies for Hannity as you watch him below, on the April 2, 2017 MediaBuzz. And don’t expect him to stop whining in the near future.
I love it! I used to have a friend who loved that song and played it all the time on the jukebox at the bar we hung out at. Here’s to Sheila, wherever she may be now.
You also reminded me of the time Hannity selectively edited a clip from a Daily Show video satirically begging him not to move out of NY (“takers” begging the “maker,” etc.) so as to make it look more flattering.
HYPOCRITE!

Richard Santalone the writers of Mad magazine would be proud. They must have had an influence on your young mind. Mine too!
In Foxie land where dumb is king,
When Sean is on here’s what we sing:
When you spew right wing views
And your friends all hate Jews
That’s A Moron,
When you lie with such glee
With an I-Q of three
That’s A Moron,
Bells will ring ting-a-ling-a ling, ting-a-ling-a-ling
And your friends will salivate,
Hearts will play tippy-tippy-tay, tippy-tippy-tay,
Don’t peddling hate pay so great,
When the spin makes you croak
Like a nut-zoid on coke
That’s A Moron,
When you bitch and you moan
Like a paranoid clone
You’re insane,
When you rally your troops
With your big piles of poop
Jesus weeps,
‘Scuz-a-me, can’t you see, here in reality
That’s A Moron, that’s a moron, That’s A Moron!

This old Long Island hawk is bad for America, bad for journalism, bad for Irish-Americans, bad for radio and television, bad for faith-based films, bad for tennis, and a sad excuse of a family man.
The Stop Hannity Express says Hannocchio has been a thin skin man all of his adult life.
In 1989, Hannocchio, hosted a weekly radio show on KCSB-FM in Santa Barbara. His show, “The Pursuit of Happiness,” was awful, and so was him. At that time, Hannocchio was thin with a unibrow, and thick, dark hair swooped all over his head. Picture a young adult version of the character, Damian from the film, “The Omen.”
Hannocchio was able to obtain a show under ‘community member’ at the station’s public affairs department.
On April 4, 1989, he had on that nutty author on talking about gays in a hateful manner. The aftermath of the interview resulted in Hannocchio’s dismissal from the station. He went nuclear, demanding his show back with the help of the Santa Barbara Chapter, ACLU. The organization wrote letters to the radio station which led to the station to give this spoiled brat his show-with demands for more air time. He didn’t get more air time, so he left. He acted like a big, spoiled rotten baby. He is still bitter about that incident.
Hannocchio was tossed when other on-air hosts went to the station’s management to vote for cancellation of his show. A fact, Hannocchio never shared with his audience.
NOTE TO MASSES
Corey Dubin stood up to Hannocchio at KCSB radio. He was instrumental in challenging and getting rid of this Long Island headache. He passed way earlier this year. This is the man http://www.independent.com/news/2017/feb/02/corey-s-dubin-1955-2017/
Gracious, Sean — that’s almost as long as its taken you to fulfill that promise to get waterboarded for charity . . .
HANNITY: He only ran 70 seconds of 50+ minutes of tape.
Hey, Seannie Poo — remember when Jon Stewart caught you selectively editing tape of President Obama’s remarks on immigration policy?
