Fox News' on-again, off-again contract with Sarah Palin is off, probably for good this time.
From Politico:
Fox News will not renew its contract with Sarah Palin, whose bombastic appearances have been a cable staple since the former Alaska governor’s failed run on John McCain’s ticket in the 2008 presidential election cycle. When asked for comment, a Fox News spokesperson confirmed the network had amicably parted ways with the governor on June 1.
Palin, 51, is expected to make occasional guest appearances on Fox and Fox Business, and will appear on other networks and cables. She has a show on the Sportsman Channel, does a lot of speeches, and will announce a new publishing project soon.
The parting may have been amicable but there were plenty of less-than-amicable moments along the way:
In January, Palin attacked Fox News and Bill O'Reilly in a rambling, incoherent rant on the Hannity show.
The next night, O'Reilly put her in her place.
That followed Palin's spectacular flop at the Iowa Freedom Summit, which prompted one of her staunchest supporters to write a blistering article called "You Betcha I Was Wrong About Sarah Palin."
In February, the MediaBuzz show demolished whatever was left of her credibility.
More recently, Palin attacked Fox when she complained that "the media" had "re-victimized" the Duggar daughters who were abused by their brother in a television interview. The only interview was Megyn Kelly's on Fox News.
Although it's true Palin still has her Sportsman Channel show - and let's not forget the Sarah Palin Channel (though it's not exactly ripping up the internet) - I predict that won't last much longer, either.
Good to know, though, that Palin will continue to make appearances on Fox and elsewhere. The only thing that could be more entertaining than Donald Trump in the 2016 presidential race would be Palin trying to insert herself into it.

Thank goodness. It seemed to be stuck at 14:59 for the longest time . . .
@ Eyes On Fox: “What’s missing is the real reason, IMHO, Sarah got the boot from GOP TV.”
“No, this was a personal Roger Ailes boot to ass. I’ve seen it coming for the longest time. It dates back to Roger, who’s advised numerous Republicans regarding the media like Bush, Nixon, and Giuliani, giving it his best shot with Sarah only to get stiff-armed.”
Makes sense.
Sarah is the type that doesn’t like to take instruction: recall how upset she was when she was told she wouldn’t be making any concession speeches on Election Night 2008 — she reportedly insisted on being given the opportunity right to the last moment, even AFTER being told that VP candidates never make concession speeches.
And as far as Roger wanting to kick her to curb, given that he doesn’t seem to be Rupert’s fair-(balding) haired boy anymore, now that he’s reporting directly to his sons, this may be Ailes’ way of reasserting some authority — before he gets kicked out completely.
.
The suits like the scent of Carly Fiorina. Insiders know she won’t be the presidential nominee, but there is a future home for the former HP Lady.
NOTE TO PALIN
You are a bore, and the suits are tired of you.
It wasn’t her word salad liberals guffaw over because right-wingers eat it up.
It wasn’t her non-existent presidential campaign being shorter than her Alaska governorship.
It wasn’t the soap opera that’s her life because right-wingers still circle the wagons around her.
It wasn’t even Sarah spending more time on entertainment channels other than comedy channel Fox News.
No, this was a personal Roger Ailes boot to ass. I’ve seen it coming for the longest time. It dates back to Roger, who’s advised numerous Republicans regarding the media like Bush, Nixon, and Giuliani, giving it his best shot with Sarah only to get stiff-armed. Sarah’s going rogue isn’t just some political branding but deep in her DNA. She’s a clueless dimwit who can’t help herself nor does she have the attention span to listen to/take Roger’s sage advice. Word on the street was Roger was done with her. It was simply a matter of time.
Nope. Never happen. They’re both too egotistical to share the spotlight much less sit still for anyone else to possibly take away the spotlight from them.
Sister Sarah’s “new publishing project” will be announced as soon as her ghostwriter finishes it.
