Rudy Giuliani: The Media Are ‘Making It Impossible’ For Trump To ‘Carry On A Campaign’

Rudy Giuliani was very busy on cable news defending the controversial comments from Donald Trump last week. Fortunately for him and Trump, Fox News host Maria Bartiromo was there to help!

Giuliani's visit to Fox News' Your World was just one of many TV hits last week in which he tried to turn Trump's self-destructive behavior into a media problem.

Host Maria Bartiromo began by helping Giuliani suggest equivalence between Trump’s thinly-veiled call for Hillary Clinton's assassination and the fact that Seddique Mateen, the father of the Orlando shooter, was seated behind Clinton at a rally in Florida.

“I found that so stunning because you know that nothing happens like that by accident,” Bartiromo said conspiratorially about Mateen. “It’s not like this guy just got in. It’s not the way the Clintons work or anybody works at this high level.”

Giuliani asked salaciously, “What brings him to Hillary Clinton? What is it about Hillary Clinton he finds so attractive?”

Bartiromo made another assist by noting Mateen supports the Taliban. She then asked – without doing anything to indicate she tried to find an answer – whether this was “a strategy on the Clinton camp” to place him behind Hillary Clinton “really prominent."

That was all Giuliani needed to suggest that Mateen should be the real scandal. “I also don’t understand why that’s a little story and Donald Trump saying words that the plain meaning of which are perfectly innocent. You’ve gotta, like, contort them to get her out. Do people really think that he was joking around? [sic] Where he was suggesting that they were gonna kill someone? That’s ridiculous.”

Bartiromo lent a hand again:  “What was he trying to say? Come out and vote?”

“That’s exactly what he was saying,” Giuliani agreed.

Bartiromo noted that Trump’s comment was obviously not part of his speech and asked if Trump will stop ad libbing because “He keeps getting himself in these problems.”

“No, he doesn’t!” Giuliani insisted. “He isn’t treated fairly. The fact is they are making it impossible for him to carry on a campaign. The liberal media is making it impossible for him to carry on a campaign. Because they are twisting his words around and then they’re allowing her to do things that are completely outrageous.”

Giuliani continued, “We have, if the liberal media gets its way, we’ve got a criminal headed to the White House. Who has committed numerous crimes. For which I have put people in jail for far less than the things that Hillary Clinton has done.”

Bartiromo didn’t challenge a word. Instead, she opened the door for more media bashing. “Why do you think they don’t see it that way, the liberal media?” she asked.

Giuliani responded with another ridiculous comment: “Because she stands for what they want us to become, which is a European social democracy. […] They do not believe in the exceptionalism of America. They don’t believe in the work ethic of America.”

Rather than challenge one word of those unfounded, inflammatory accusations, Bartiromo validated them. “They want to get free stuff,” she said, repeating another Republican dog whistle, this one from Mitt Romney.

Watch the bias below, from the August 10 Your World.

Susan Taylor, Great analysis of Trump’s 2nd Amendment comment. I agree with the rest of your comments about him, too. I do have one minor correction: I believe Trump made the “Look at that face” comment about Carly Fiorina, not Hillary Clinton. Though it sounds like something he would say about Clinton… and maybe will before the election is over.

Rudy, you are a lying sack of shit, and an absolute disgrace to the people of NYC. Have you forgotten about 9/11? You just spit on all the brave first responders who died trying to save people’s lives. Rudy, you Trump ass kisser, they were radical Islamic terrorists, don’t you remember? I hope your words denying 9/11 go into every single Democratic ad in the country as demonstration of what pathetic liars the entire GOP has become. To make worse you didn’t even mention the first bombing of the World Trade Center in 1993 either. Are you saying 9/11 wasn’t successful or that it wasn’t done by radical Islamic terrorists? They were Saudis, remember, you were there. Rudy, you were an idiot to not mention 9/11 and the World Trade Center attack in 1993, do you why? Because Trump is going to dump this mess in your lap, he will insist you lied, and that he was shocked you would do that. You will end up on the scrap heap with Christie.

Trump’s problem is Trump. Trump has no filter and he is incapable of thinking before he speaks. Regarding Trump’s statement about "the Second Amendment people,” Manafort said “Most people did not interpret it that way,” Manafort said. “It was not at all meant to be a threat” Manafort you are full of shit! Trump said. “If she gets to pick her judges, nothing you can do, folks. Although the Second Amendment people — maybe there is, I don’t know.” In his statement Trump has assumed that Clinton has won the election since that would be the only way that “she gets to pick her judges”. Presidential candidates can’t pick SCOTUS judges, only the POTUS can. A Trump spokesman said “It’s very clear Mr. Trump is talking about 2nd Amendment supporters exercising their voting power.” What abject bull shit, she had already been elected so there was nothing to vote about, the election was over. And what voting rights are outlined in the 2nd amendment? And if Trump was talking about “exercising their voting power” as his spokesman said why would Trump only address “the Second Amendment people” surely he would want all his supporters to be “exercising their voting power”. So Trump could only have been referring to the right to bear arms. If Trump was joking he should have said so on the spot, not days later after the shit hit the fan. And, it is immaterial if Trump was serious or not, this type of rhetoric could start WWIII. Trump is monumentally unfit to be POTUS. Trump is tanking because of Trump; he can’t stop putting his foot in his mouth. Trump’s worse enemy is Trump. The media keeps covering Trump because he won’t stop making ridiculous statements, like Obama founded ISIS, after Trump in a previous quote said “They [the Iraqi Shiite-led government] deceived us because they didn’t take care of the Kurds, they didn’t take care, the whole thing,” Trump said at a November campaign event in Fort Dodge, Iowa. “ISIS formed because these people were not allowed to partake in, that’s where ISIS came from. It came out of Iraq.” The media would not be covering Trump this much if he didn’t make a fool out of himself every day. And Trump has constantly provoked the media into covering him by calling into talk shows and his nearly constant tweeting. Trump just can’t stop opening his big fat mouth and shoving his foot into it. As far as the Khan family goes, Trump didn’t have to say anything, but no, Trump has to insult them. Which was not just stupid, but reminded everyone that Trump is and always will be a cowardly, draft dodging SOB who didn’t serve. He got a medical deferment for bone spurs, but then had no trouble playing sports. Then he tried to equate going to military school, otherwise known as “rich boy reform school”, with military service. And let’s not forget he said his sex life in the 80’s was “his Vietnam”. Then Trump lied by claiming that Capt. Khan’s family has terrorist ties. Does Trump or anyone else expect us to believe that if there was any suspicion Mr. Kahn had ties to any criminal or terrorist organization that the Secret Service would have allowed him anywhere near Clinton? The Secret Service takes their job seriously; the Khan family would have been investigated before they appeared at the DNC. This is another testament to Trump stupidly; didn’t he realize that anyone appearing at either the RNC or DNC would be investigated by the Secret Service? Oh and let’s not forget how much Trump cherishes women, three women have accused him of sexual assault. Here are only a few of Trump’s quotes about women, it is pretty hard not to see a pattern, it is called misogyny with a sprinkling of narcissism. He’d make a great impression on Queen Elizabeth. “My favorite part [of ‘Pulp Fiction’] is when Sam has his gun out in the diner and he tells the guy to tell his girlfriend to shut up. Tell that bitch to be cool. Say: ‘Bitch be cool.’ I love those lines.” — TrumpNation: The Art of Being The Donald, 2005. “ Regarding Clinton, “Look at that face. Would anybody vote for that? Can you imagine that, the face of our next president?! I mean, she’s a woman, and I’m not s’posedta say bad things, but really, folks, come on. Are we serious? ” “You know, it doesn’t really matter what [the media] write as long as you’ve got a young and beautiful piece of ass.” — from an interview with Esquire, 1991. “You have to treat them(women) like shit” New York Magazine 1992.Trump can’t change his behavior; it is only going to get worse.

Rudy sank below the waves of irreverence when he gave the warm up speech in Indiana and ‘forgot’ Bush was President for 9-11. Rudy, the 9-11 sign board blamed it on Obama and Clinton and wiped Georgie’s slate clean saying there was no Islamic terrorism in the 8-10 preceding Obama.

throw him, like a broken chair, on the fire.

It’s intriguing to wonder about the mental processes going on behind that Mister Burns face of Giuliani. Surely he’s bright enough to realise his years of relevancy to the national discourse are fading fast, and being the guy who covered the arse and pretended to like The Ugliest American is no way to be remembered.

How much more honoured would he be if he chose to make a stand for decency and truth against the forces of greed and inhumanity?

Donald Trump is a pathological liar and a sociopath. Everything that comes out of his mouth is a lie. He is incapable of telling the truth. And those Republican politicians that support him are the lowest of the low. They have put party before country time and time again. The greatest threat to our democracy is not Al Queda or ISIS…it’s what’s passing for the Republican party today.

Personally, I think there’s more equivalence with how disgraced ex-congressman Mark Foley was seated behind Drumpf at a recent rally:

http://www.cnn.com/2016/08/10/politics/donald-trump-mark-foley-campaign-rally/

“How many of you people know me?” Trump asked those seated behind him.
Foley, visible just to Trump’s left, quickly raised his hand in response.

Giuliani asked salaciously, “What brings him to Hillary Clinton? What is it about Hillary Clinton he finds so attractive?”

Well Rudy, you could ask Foley just what is it about Donald Drumpf he finds so attractive.

Bet I can guess, though: Foley is a convicted kiddie porn purveyor, and Drumpf is already on record as saying he’d bang his 16 year old daughter if they weren’t related . . .

What is the “liberal” media supposed to do about Drumpf? Praise him for the crap that comes out of his mouth (although his supporters don’t see it that way)? Praise him for the whiteness of his rallies (and the yuuuge crowds)??? How about just ignoring him. No coverage. Just let Faux and talk radio cover him, and then maybe we won’t have to hear “liberal” media day after day from the likes of Mayor 9/11.

That darn media could only help Trump by totally ignoring him. One pundit suggested Trump’s only hope is he take a vaca out of the country and stop tweeting until the election.

Maria Fartirama was busy giving the questions and the answers. 9/11 Ghouliani didn’t have much to do other than regurgitate. A typical Fux Noise “interview”.

When I say neighbor, I’m pulling your leg just a bit. She lives on the north side of Houston in Spring. I live on the east side. Although I drive by there every other day.

Watching Gabby makes me think of how fleeting fame is. Yes, it is kind of sad.

David Lindsay,

I’ve been watching Simone Biles since whatever the competition was before the Olympic trials (Nationals?) and she’s amazing. Yes, I saw her tonight and in the other competitions.

Is she a neighbor that you know? She seems like a very nice person.

In fact, the whole team seems lovely. Quite a contrast to 2012, when they all looked like mean girls, except for Gabby (who seems so sad this year).

The big giant Pennzoil building in downtown Houston used to sport Bracewell/Giuliani on the front of the building 4 years ago. They chiseled the last name off not too long ago. Toon Town’s Daffy law firm made Rudy an offer. It would be Daffy/Giuliani but Daffy Duck insists on Rudy doing something about his speech impediment first.

Did anyone see my neighbor Simone Biles kick ass in gymnastic Olympics? Especially, The Vault.

Geez, Rudy…try to act like a man that was important and actually relevant at one time!
We’ll all pretend that you didn’t inevitably fail miserably if you’ll just shut your mouth and show some class.

The party of personal responsibility accepts none.

When reality doesn’t meet ideology – as so often the case with conservatives – the only way to explain the disconnect is some kooky conspiracy theory.

Could NounVerb911 be testing the waters for Trump to pull the plug and claim he just can’t go on with all the rotten media ganging up on him? We can only hope…
