Apparently, Republican Congressman Steve King thinks that making America great again means scaring voters out of their minds about what will happen if they don’t vote for Donald Trump.
During yesterday’s Countdown to the Showdown special on Fox News, host Neil Cavuto did his part to promote the “If Trump loses, it will be because the election’s rigged” conspiracy theory. CNN’s Brian Stelter did a terrific commentary today about how dangerous this is and how the media has a responsibility to debunk it.
But Cavuto showed the long lines forming to see Trump in New Hampshire and said, “Despite all the controversy, despite all these women with their latest allegations, he remains very popular as far as an event to go to.”
Cavuto forgot to mention he’s a lot less popular as far as a candidate to vote for.
After that Trump-friendly set-up, Cavuto read a Trump tweet saying, “This election is being rigged by the media pushing false and unsubstantiated charges, and outright lies, in order to elect Crooked Hillary!”
Cavuto helped make sure Trump would not say that about Fox News! So did the lower-third banner, which read, “TRUMP TODAY: ELECTION BEING RIGGED MEDIA PUSHING FALSE CHARGES.”
The so-called “false charges” were, of course, the barrage of allegations from a slew of women that Trump sexually assaulted them. However in a phone interview, King suggested that the accusations could have happened to anyone:
KING: Thirty years ago on an airplane - you know none of us are immune from such an allegation. These allegations all coming up in a couple days of each other, it does cause one to suspect where were they before, why did we hear none of this up until the beginning to and then after this last debate.
King also advised Trump to focus on winning “another unanimous decision over Hillary Clinton” at the upcoming debate.
In fact, polls show Clinton won both previous debates. But Cavuto did not challenge King’s assertion.
Then King moved into his serious fear mongering.
KING: What’s going to move voters out here still is the realization that we could lose our ports, our Constitution, we could lose our borders, we could lose the rule of law with Hillary Clinton, and Donald Trump holds all that together and restores it.
Watch it below, from the October 15, 2016 Countdown to the Showdown.
That is dangerous and we can make all the remarks about Trump and his “deplorable” followers but god forbid he wins. Sorry to drag out hitler but he wasn’t elected and look at what happened. What does it say about our politic when one party admits the train wreck that is Trump but refuses to remove all support.
Wikileaks is trying very hard to undermine Clinton and perhaps there is something newsworthy there. But Trump his megalomania and narcissism prevent him from being able to capitalize on what would have been fodder for any of the other candidates. Hillary would have been in much worse shape. But hell to spite Republicans I will vote for Hillary Clinton. Honestly unless I am forced to admit in this race she is hands down the best choice.
For the first time in my adult life I truly fear a presidential candidate. I fear the rise of “white” America, not bigoted whites but the religion of nationalism.
Just like the rest of the idiotic Teabaggers.
I mean, according to the Donald, he’s supposed to be so rich that you’d think he could offer “rewards” to women who’ve been “attacked” by Bill over the years to back up Donald’s assertions. And yet, nothing like this has happened as far as I’m aware.
But, somehow, Hillary (and Bill) seem to have just untold hidden millions to lure a wide swath of women (who, for the most part, have been pretty much UNKNOWN to the world) to accuse Donald of sexual harassment.
Then again, I don’t remember Bill ever bragging that he could have any woman he wanted—quite unlike the Donald.
That’s it.
Hillary’s not in the room, much less quoted here. It’s some off the cuff remark said with mostly with a hope and a prayer. Yet, it’s ’Hillary’s secret plan’ and all Dems hate the Constitution. Sheesh!
…or has he?? Mwaahahaha!!
