Palin Says “We Weren’t Fair To The Electorate” Not Focusing More On Rev. Wright And Bill Ayers

It felt like 2008 all over again last night (11/18/09) as Sean Hannity went out of his way to bring up Rev. Wright and Bill Ayers during his hour-long interview with Sarah Palin about her new book. Why would Hannity waste time on this non-issue, if not for a sheer desire to hate monger against President Obama? In response, Palin had the nerve to pretend that talking more about Wright and Ayers was not negative campaigning, just being “fair to the electorate.” With video.

Karl Rove Blames Obama Administration Lawyers “Who Do Not Love America” For Bush Administration’s Failure To Prosecute Khalid Shaikh Mohammed

I don’t know about you but when it comes to matters of terrorism and national security, Karl Rove is not exactly at the top of my list of credible experts. Political experts, maybe, certainly experts on dirty tricks, but it’s hard to forget that this is the same guy who played a role in the outing of CIA agent Valerie Plame and who served as the right-hand man of the Bush administration which, despite their posturing about national security, ignored the President’s Daily Brief of August 6, 2001, titled “Bin Laden determined to strike in US” and started a war in Iraq based on faulty evidence. It’s also the same administration that lost New Orleans to Katrina. So why on earth would Fox News put on Karl Rove as the first guest on the O’Reilly Factor last night (11/13/09) to discuss the Obama administration’s decision to try five Guantanamo Bay detainees in federal court in New York City, if not to make political hay? Furthermore, as Rove himself as good as admitted, the Bush administration’s “harsh interrogations” torture of their prisoners is bound to be an issue at trial. Not that Bill O’Reilly brought that up. But he did have a stellar moment when he confronted Rove about the Bush administration’s failure to try supposed 9/11 mastermind Khalid Shaikh Mohammed when they had the chance. Rove, classy guy that he is, blamed it all on liberal lawyers who are now in the Obama administration “who do not love America, who want to undermine our cause in the global war on terror and who will oppose the military tribunals.” Never mind that Attorney General Eric Holder also announced yesterday that five other detainees will be tried by military commission. O’Reilly missed that, too. With video.

Fox&Friends Get Friendly With Homophobic and Bigoted Teabagger Mark Williams

Fox News does love its tea parties. It has given aid and comfort for this right wing Howard Beale movement since its inception – supportive coverage that was not given to the anti war movement during the Bush administration when those who didn’t support the president were considered librul traitors by the Fox illuminati who seem to have no problem with Obama as Hitler and health care reform as Dachau. Yesterday, Fox&Friends, in providing wrap up coverage for the crazy clown car (whoops, Tea Party Express) tour, interviewed right wing talk radio host and proud teabagger, Mark Williams. During the segment, Williams provided us with some homophobic “humor” and an anti-Islamic visual was shown. Happy, happy, joy, joy.

Mike Huckabee’s Flag Fetish

Here’s a quick quiz for you: Which of the definitions below best matches the intended role and function of the American flag?

(1) something that stands for or suggests something else by reason of relationship, association, or convention; a visible sign of something invisible.
(2 an object having cultural significance and the capacity to excite or objectify a response.
(3) a material object which should be considered sacred in its own right
(4) an object worthy of devotion, intense reverence, and ritualistic veneration

(1) and (2) describe a symbol, and if you chose one of these definitions you are correct. (3) and (4) describe a fetish, and if you chose one of these, you’re Mike Huckabee. With video.
Updated with second video.

Only On Fox News: Praising Our President Is Dangerous And Unpatriotic

Those two uber patriots, Sean Hannity and Michelle Malkin, teamed up on Hannity last night (11/4/09) to hype the “findings” of the latest “expose” video from Andrew Breitbart’s Big Hollywood – 11 instances of school children singing the praises of our president, “uncovered,” as Media Matters noted, from YouTube. According to Hannity and Malkin, school children singing about our President is downright – well, un-American. With Video.
