Our Outrageous Quote of the Week poll has returned. Continuing this poll felt trivial and stupid after the election. But in the last week, there was so much outrageousness – and there will surely be more in the weeks and years to come – that I decided it is important to highlight. And why shouldn’t we have a little fun with it along the way. God knows, we’ve got enough to be serious about already.
So here’s this week’s crop of nominees. The poll will remain open until 11:55 PM Saturday night.
Bill O’Reilly, helping to validate Donald Trump’s claim that he won the popular vote “if you deduct the millions of people who voted illegally”:
“I believe the California authorities in Sacramento want illegal aliens to vote. They want that. So they have made it so with a wink, wink, wink, if you do it this way, you’ll be able to.”
“Tribal warfare in Africa relates to gang warfare in America. I mean, blacks have issues with each other. They know that. The studies are really clear out there. We don’t understand what our destiny is from God.”
Eric Bolling, arguing that taking away health insurance from the 20 million insured under Obamacare is no problem because thee are emergency rooms:
“They’re not on the street. You still have Medicare and Medicaid. So that’s always going to be there. And you have emergency rooms which we had before. Until another plan is floated, that’s acceptable.”
Bill O’Reilly, praising Jesse Watters’ ambush interview of Hampshire College’s president in which Watters stuck his foot in the door of the president’s home and refused to remove it and leave. Watters never asked for an interview before ambushing the president. The police were subsequently called.
“You were polite to him. So, um, he’s a villain and a coward.”
David Wohl, to Megyn Kelly:
“Well, Trump said no one should be able to burn the flag and he’s absolutely right. You know, Megyn, the Supreme Court in 1989 decided that burning the flag was somehow protected free speech. You burn anything else you go to jail. The flag, it’s fine. And you know Americans and the Americans that put Mr. Trump in office are just so fed up with this garbage climate.”
“What Keith Ellison wants to do is pretend that blacks have some unique problems in America, which we don’t.”
Bobby Knight, discussing Donald Trump:
“I’ve watched him, I’ve watched how he treated people, and I can’t think of anybody that I could consider that would be do more good, more things, and be better for all of us American citizens than Saint Donald.”
