What do Ferguson, ISIS, Michelle Obama, “war on religion,” and Benghazi have in common? They were all the subjects of Outrageous Fox News quotes last week. But as you probably know by now, only one quote can be The Most Outrageous Fox News Quote of the Week. It’s up to you now, dear readers, to determine which it shall be.
This week’s nominees are:
Walid Shoebat: I don’t want to be alarmist here but ISIS is in the United States.
Dr. Keith Ablow, doubling down on his complaint that Michelle Obama is too fat to advocate for healthy eating: “I’m not taking food advice from an American who dislikes America, who in many photographs during her tenure as first lady is obviously not fit, and who has a record of saying things that show that she’s two-faced.”
Elisabeth Hasselbeck: “There’s a war on religion going on and you know it.”
Todd Starnes, tweeting: “First Obama speaks out for the Harvard professor - then Trayvon - and now Michael Brown. I’m sensing a pattern...”
Laura Ingraham suggesting that journalists arrested and tear gassed in Ferguson, Missouri were asking for it: “Some are claiming that these journalists aren’t just there to report a story. They’re looking for trouble to gain fame and perhaps notoriety.”
Headline of a blog post by Greta Van Susteren, making President Obama’s statement about the Ferguson protests about Benghazi: “President Obama is right but he needs to “practice what he preaches” (I wish he felt this way about the Benghazi investigation!)”
Andrea Tantaros, displaying a stunning lack of understanding of the First Amendment:
“So the Establishment Clause was designed to prevent people from trying to get people to read certain religious texts. The atheists are acting almost in their own form of religion right? A godless religion, like religious zealots trying to eradicate any kind of religious texts, references God or Christianity so arguably they could be in violation of the Establishment Clause because they’re using the 1st Amendment, I see it as a sword and that’s exactly what the 1st Amendment was designed to do, I mean these bibles were donated, let them have the bibles. The military is under attack by the PC police under this administration and that is why I think they’re caving.”
Fox military analyst Bill Cowan: "My anger these days isn’t all at Obama. …My anger is at every last person that voted for him. When I see an Obama sticker go by in a car, I’ve never had anger like that in my life. I want to run ‘em off the road. I don’t care if it’s a woman."
