Our Thoughts And Hearts Are With The Victims Of The Aurora, CO Shooting

Posted by Ellen -392.40pc on July 20, 2012 · Flag

It's a testament to how deeply our nation has been impacted by the mass shooting in a movie theater in Aurora, Colorado that even Fox News has (mostly) suspended their partisanship. Here's an open thread where we can all share news, thoughts and emotions about this awful event.

Our thoughts and prayers to all the victims, their families and friends.

We heard Handout Hannocchio and a few conservative mouthpieces talk about the Colorado tragedy. No surprises that these fools use this tragedy for cheap political points against President Obama.

Handout Hannocchio’s concerns are his image, ratings, and income. There’s money to be made off of tragedies, like the Zimmerman/Martin shooting.

Absolutely horrible! I was talking to my brothers today as one of them had heard nothing about it and it broke my heart. Something else that actually pissed me off is how rediculous both sides of the firearms issue have been with the propaganda over this. For goodness sakes, the douche brought tear gas with him. Access or no access,he was intent on taking innocent lives. And I apologise to my friends here who may think me extreme but I hope he suffers greatly.

I’m not sure how this tragedy could be President Obama’s fault, but I am sure that KKKlannity will tell us in the next few days.

I am relieved to see both Romney and President Obama taking the moment to note what happened and setting aside politics for the day. What both men did was absolutely the right thing.

And at the same time, it’s unfortunately typical that someone like Sean Hannity would try to find a way to score cheap political points.

I have literally a minute to chip in, but the people on the better coverage have brought up a pretty good point: The Dark Knight Rises does have a lot of political interpretation, both profound that was made this morning by people who saw the movie, as well as crackpot ideas made by people who only saw the ads, or made stuff up without even that thinking politics could kill the Batman film franchise.

It’s very likely that he could have just chosen a guarenteed high turnout premiere for body count, impact, whatever… but both sides are guilty of politicizing the hell out of this film building it up, so the idea that it could be political isn’t far fetched. I mean, fights over politics in The Hunger Games got heated, and some violence broke out… and THG wasn’t even a good movie, truth be told. Certainly not good enough to care about past buying it on DVD if you did like it.

Ok, time for my check-up. Make what you can out of that rant, there is a point in there, one I will try to come back on tonight.

A tragedy. Very sad. My thoughts to the victims and their families.

kkklannity can’t help himself. He’s just got to stir up the hate in his sheep. I’m gonna guess that kkklannity and the NRA are going to somehow blame all this on President Obama.

Just got out of my car. Klannity is in commercial but said before the break he will now discuss the politicizing of the Aurora incident. Brought up how liberals and Democrats immediately blamed conservatives and the Tea Party for the Giffords’ shooting. Said they are doing it again. Faux may be tamping in down, but not Klannity. All of this just 20 mins. into his radio show.

Not to dis Smith in any way but he just reported that it’s unknown where the shooter got his guns. But NBC has the info: he got them from national chains.

This is the kind of thing that makes everyone just sick at heart. I don’t understand how anyone could do something this horrifying, and I strongly doubt I ever will.

I do remember a year and a half ago Shepard Smith doing some very good reporting on the Giffords shooting.
