On Thursday's O'Reilly Factor (4/23/09), headlined “Will General Electric Get Paid for Supporting President Obama?” Bill O'Reilly teamed up with Laura Ingraham to rant – again – about General Electric and NBC and, just to round things out, President Obama. O'Reilly and Ingraham accused their rival network of trying to butter up Obama in order to win government contracts. But instead of hard evidence, the pair produced only a stream of supposition. On his FOX News show today, Glenn Beck said, "The Civil War taught us that, apparently, U.S. states can't secede from the Union. I'd like to test that one again maybe sometime. But what I'd like to know is if the Union has the right to kick out states. Because if so, I'd like to take a star right out of our flag, and California is it."

On the 1/20/09 “special edition” of the Factor, Bill O’Reilly decided to treat the Fox faithful to his opinion of President Barack Obama’s inaugural speech. His commentary was innocuous enough, and generally favorable. After a shout-out to Senator Ted Kennedy, who was taken to hospital after suffering a seizure at the congressional lunch, and a mention of the stumble over the oath of office (with video, and without, of course, mentioning that it was Chief Justice John Roberts who caused the confusion, Bill played what I thought was an interesting choice of clips from the speech. FOX News Host: Bush Very Much Kept Broadly To The Governing Philosophy He Ran On

Hannity & Colmes offered a segment last night (12/5/08) about Obama's supposed abandonment of the windfall profits tax on oil companies. With Karl Rove as the only guest, one can only conclude that it was the producers' intention to cast Barack Obama in a negative light. Trying to unfavorably compare Obama to George W. Bush, guest host Mark Steyn (substituting for Sean Hannity) announced that Bush “very much kept broadly to the governing philosophy he ran on.” In fact, Bush did a complete turn around on much of the philosophy he ran on. Also in the segment, Alan Colmes asked Karl Rove about reports that he's working on a Bush legacy project. Rove's cagey non-denial makes it seem quite likely that he is. With video.

“Mavericks” John McCain and Sarah Palin sat down for yet another FOX News infomercial on last night's (10/8/08) Hannity & Colmes staged on their behalf by Sean Hannity and without the inconvenience of any possibly disagreeable questions from Alan Colmes. No maverick questions for the mavericks allowed! Instead, McCain promoted Palin as “one of the foremost experts” on energy while echoing her own distortions about her record on a natural gas pipeline that supposedly helped earn her prominent place in the world of energy experts.
