Although Bill O’Reilly repeatedly insisted that his interest in the “race-based” case in Norfolk, Virginia was making sure justice was done, a discussion with Charles Krauthammer last night suggested an ulterior motive of using the case against a fave Fox News target, Eric Holder. And it’s not the first time we’ve seen that hint.
In a segment that FoxNews.com called Is Eric Holder corrupt or playing politics? it was hard to mistake the message that there was no virtuous judgment could be made about him.
O’Reilly got right to the point of suggesting Holder’s a racist. “He’s going after Sheriff Joe Arpaio in Arizona for racial profiling but will not tell Congress what the Justice Department knows about the federal gun scandal dubbed ‘Fast and Furious.’ Also, reports are the FBI may charge George Zimmerman with a hate crime for killing Trayvon Martin. But when The Factor called the Attorney General last week, asking if he would investigate bias-crime allegations in Norfolk, Virginia, the mob violence case we’ve reported on earlier, the Justice Department refused to get back to us.” O'Reilly even threw in the bogus New Black Panther Party case.
Don’t forget that two previous guests, Virginia talk show host Dave Parker and Virginia Attorney General Ken Cuccinelli, have indicated that justice is being served. Parker said in an earlier segment that night the white victims as well as Virginians are satisfied with how the case is proceeding. So why does O’Reilly feel the need to make a federal case out of it if not to further his own personal agenda?
Fortunately, Krauthammer refused to call Holder “corrupt” without actual proof. But he did enthusiastically portray Holder as a “political hack.”
