Serial sick-wife cheater Newt Gingrich has a lecture for the rest of us about how to behave. Protesters who “disrupt” Trump events should go to jail for months but the Trump supporters who actually beat people up? Not worth mentioning.
Sean Hannity goosed Gingrich to start demonizing Trump protesters right in the introduction to their discussion: “A lot of left-wing disrupters caused all kinds of chaos,” Hannity complained about last week’s protests. “According to Politico, big-wig liberals and left-wing politicians and political groups are coming together to plan an all-out assault against Donald Trump,” he continued. “How should Republicans handle that?”
Gingrich wasted little time before he started demonizing Americans while pretending to be the moral patriot.
GINGRICH: The media ignores the fact you have a fascist liberalism which is prepared to go totally outside the law to impose its values, to block any kind of debate.
If Donald Trump is serious or if Ted Cruz is serious, and I think they both are, they’re going to represent the kind of changes which are gonna drive the left crazy. And the left will express its craziness by breaking the law. All we have to do is say again and again we want the law enforced, we are very much for the right of people to dissent, we’re very much for the right of people to demonstrate, we are opposed to their disruption and we are opposed to their imposing their will on their fellow citizens. And we have to say, maybe a lot of these people ought to spend the entire summer in jail and then they won’t bother anybody. And I think that when people start being disruptive, they need to be arrested, they need to be prosecuted and they need to serve some time.
Hannity didn’t utter a peep of objection. Perhaps he thinks we’ve forgotten how he was all for Tea Party disruption (of Democrats) before he was against liberals disrupting Republicans. For example, in 2009 Hannity sympathetically noted that 500 Tea Party-type activists “stormed” Democrats - right before promoting upcoming Tea Party protests:
SEAN HANNITY, HOST: And tonight in “Your America” Americans are not happy with the skyrocketing tax rates. Now just yesterday, 500 people stormed the Iowa House as Democrats there unveiled a plan to raise taxes and the country’s widespread unhappiness also explains why tea parties are being held across the country.
By the way, on that note, don’t forget, on tax day, April 15th, Tim Geithner Day, this show will air from the “Tax Day Tea Party” in Atlanta, Georgia, and we’ll also be checking in with other tea parties all across the country.

Meanwhile, the guy who cheated on two seriously-ill wives (while attacking Bill Clinton over his affair with Monica Lewinsky) who also wants to put away protesters for months for, basically, bad behavior, had nothing to say about the actual assaults by Trump supporters nor the criminal assault charges filed by reporter Michelle Fields against Trump’s campaign manager, Corey Lewandowski.
I’m not here to support disruptions but this selective outrage and inflammatory rhetoric is a perfect example of how Fox News rhetoric fits hand in fist with Trump’s.
