Outrageous Quote of the Week 11/2/08 - Special Pre-election Edition

Dick Morris won handily last week for his approval of extra-legal and/or unethical activity, all for "security" sake: "As far as I'm concerned, I'm in favor of a Governor using all the power she can and even abusing her power to make sure that public safety is maintained."

This week has been excrutiatingly difficult, with rhetoric and smears flying at warp speed, so there is an abundance of choices which have been broken down into smaller sub-polls. Let's see if there is a definitve "winner" in this smorgasbord of smears.

We can see why Bill O'Reilly's contract was renewed as he continues to turn our rip-roarin' whoppers for your entertainment, like this winner from last week: "I make sure, personally make sure, that throughout the week we have equal representation of conservative, liberal, Democrat, Republican. Last week, Bill O'Reilly "not" comparing US Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) to Hitler, "You know who used to do that, who practiced for hours before making a speech? And I'm not making any comparison here. So, don't -- you crazy left-wing websites out there, it's not a comparison. Adolf Hitler. Adolf Hitler practiced for hours, all of his -- all of his gestures and everything else before he went out there," barely edged out Bill O'Reilly screaming at United States Congressman Barney Frank (D-MA) "Stop the BS here! Stop the crap! From August '07 to August '08, under your tutelage, this industry declined 90%. ... People lost millions of dollars, it wasn't your fault! Come on you coward, say the truth!" Oy, that Bill, so independent, fair and balanced - he goes after both straight female US House Democrats and gay male US House Democrats. Let's ignore him this week and see what ratcheted up rhetoric FOX has fed us via their other tools:

Bill O'Reilly's got his game back and won last week for the nearly incoherent "Now, if you were President and you have a friend who thinks Louis Farrakhan, a horrible anti-Semite, who also believes America is a racist nation, that association would be troubling. It's no different than President Bush hanging out with David Duke....Americans are saying, "We want our President to have a perspective we share."
