Multimillionaire Sean Hannity found it “frustrating” the Republican-led Congress hasn’t destroyed Americans’ health insurance fast enough with an outright repeal of Obamacare (despite overwhelming public opposition to such a measure). But he and fellow elitist Newt Gingrich took heart in the fact that Republicans plan to do away with subsidies that make health insurance affordable.
“There's no urgency. They were not prepared for repealing and replacing ObamaCare!” Hannity complained about Congress last night. “It’s frustrating to those people like me that have -- for eight years, you've been saying you're going to do this. How are you not ready?”
Gingrich likened the situation to the Green Bay Packers which had a terrible opening of the season last year yet “turned it around” after “about game six.”
But Hannity just can’t wait to go against the will of the people and take away their health insurance! “Let's vote on it,” he said, impatiently.
Gingrich assured Hannity Congress has “learned a lot” from the previous failure to repeal Obamacare. And Hannity found consolation in Paul Ryan's latest maneuver.
GINGRICH: I'll tell you this. I think they're handling the continuing resolution to keep the government open better because of the failure that Friday, including the White House. I think...
HANNITY: I was shocked. Today, Ryan said, “We're not going to fund Obamacare subsidies.”
GINGRICH: Right.
HANNITY: I was actually happy. Good job, check in his direction.
What’s making Hannity “actually happy,” is the collapse of health insurance for as many as 20 million Americans, as described by Politico:
Insurers, state regulators and health care groups have urged Congress to continue funding Obamacare's cost-sharing subsidies, warning the law's insurance marketplaces could collapse without them.
Hannity not only doesn’t care about what those experts or the millions of Americans think, he wants it done already… in the name of compassion:
GINGRICH: Yes. They're working at it. I mean...
HANNITY: You have more patience than me. I am -- I where's the sense of urgency? I want the country -- we have 95 million Americans out of the labor force, 50 million in poverty and on food stamps.
Yes, where is that sense of urgency? With all those Americans in economic trouble, what’s taking so long to "help them" by destroying their health insurance?
You'll notice Hannity said nothing about how Americans' lives would improve by losing Obamacare subsidies and/or Obamacare outright. Maybe that's because Republicans' current plan "replaces" Americans' current benefits with insurance that would allow insurers to avoid covering "essential health benefits" like emergency room visits and maternity care as well as drive up premiums for the sick. The plan is also expected to leave tens of millions of Americans without insurance altogether.
Watch the elitists salivate over taking away less-fortunate Americans’ current health insurance below, from the April 26, 2017 Hannity.
Bust unions to crush working class wages and benefits.
Abolish the minimum wage. Why should Sean pay $7 per hour for someone to trim his hedges?
Shred the safety net. Can you say massive tax cut for the rich?
Tax ‘reform’. Eliminate popular middle class deductions like the mortgage deduction in favor of abolishing the Alternative Minimum Tax so Trump pays no income tax.
Turn Social Security into a Wall Street investment scam.
Privatize Medicaid because it’s keeping him from another home in the Hamptons. Hey, granny’s useful days are over. Face it, she’s a leech.
Turn butter into guns. When’s the last time Raytheon increased Sean’s dividend? (Actually April Sean so don’t sweat it 😉)
Putting working and underclass women plus their doctors on death row for anything abortion.
I expected the Pence White House to immediately stop subsidizing the insurers as of January 21st, but it looks like they wanted to use that as a stick a little later on.
From what I can see, there’s going to be a stalemate on funding the government, and Pence will take revenge by simply pulling those subsidies. Which will crash the ACA and remove that problem from the Congress’ hands.
Keep in mind that this has nothing to do with health care and it never did. This is about erasing the presidency of Barack Obama. Hannity and the Right desperately need the ACA to be tossed out, so they can finish their victory lap and retroactively declare President Obama the failure they always claimed he was.
