“Objective” Fox News host Martha MacCallum inserted her seal of approval to Republican Congressman Darrell Issa yesterday during their discussion of possibly citing Attorney General Eric Holder for contempt.
I’ve previously written about Fox News’ witchhunt against Eric Holder with regard to the New Black Panther case. Rest assured the witch hunt lives on now at every opportunity. Yesterday’s opportunity for MacCallum was the Fast and Furious case.
MacCallum sounded excited as she introduced the segment by saying, “BIG story this morning. Bombshell developments in the case for holding U.S Attorney General Eric Holder in contempt of Congress.”
Issa laid out his talking points against Holder without challenge from MacCallum – whom we have often caught acting as a GOP mouthpiece despite the fact that her show airs during what is supposed to be Fox’s “objective news” programming.
But MacCallum took it a step further into a de facto endorsement by saying to Issa:
You know, you’ve been talking to us about this, talking to a lot of people about this over the months – and William LaJeunesse has been, you know, on this story since the very beginning. It feels like you had the basis for this contempt charge for quite some time now. You’ve talked about documents that you didn’t get, how long you’ve been waiting for them. Why not move forward more quickly on it?
Issa laughably feigned reluctance to take such a step – which MacCallum predictably swallowed without question. She also added, “It seems unlikely” the DOJ would provide the material Issa’s committee has been requesting.
In concert with this, a banner on the screen read, “NEW ‘FAST & FURIOUS’ DOCUMENTS FILED IN CONGRESS OUTLINE CASE FOR CONTEMPT.”
But even that wasn’t enough for MacCallum. She went on to “ask” about the possibility of getting rid of Holder altogether. “Is there any political hope on your side to influence the possible release of Eric Holder from his duties anywhere near the time of November and the election?”
Well — I can only hope Mad Martha will be just as excited when Maindrian Pace [Darrell Issa] cites Uncle KKKarl Rove for his failure to appear before the House Judiciary Committee . . . in 2009 . . .

Um, you WILL cite him, won’t you Maind – er, Darrell?
