Jon Stewart vs. Bill O’Reilly On Fox’s Bullshit Mountain

Posted by Ellen -379.80pc on October 08, 2012 · Flag

Nobody’s better than Jon Stewart at honing in on exactly what is wrong with Fox News. In this clip from his “Rumble in Air-Conditioned Auditorium” pay-per-view match up with Bill O’Reilly, Stewart gets it right again. “On Bullshit Mountain (i.e. Fox News), our problems are amplified and our solutions simplified and that’s why they won’t work.”

In the clip below, from our friends at Video Café at Crooks and Liars, Stewart addresses O’Reilly, the Mayor of Bullshit Mountain, albeit not a “year-round” resident:

Until we can agree on a reality that exists in this country, you and those denizens believe that we face a cataclysm, a societal cataclysm between freedom and socialism. And on Bullshit Mountain, our problems are amplified and our solutions simplified and that’s why they won’t work. We face a debt crisis that we’ve never faced before. We are merely weeks from being a failed state or even worse, Greece. And the way to solve it? Is to kill Big Bird. Now let me say this. That is not a solution!

In case you’re wondering, I did not watch The Rumble. Although I applaud its reasonable price of $4.95, and I would have paid twice that amount to see this face off, it just bugged the heck out of me that these two millionaires only donated only “half of the net profits” to charity. Come on, guys!

@bemused, not hard to understand at all why POS borally is an asshole on his ALL SPIN FACTOR every night. He’s being paid a large amount of money to follow his master Jabba Ailes’ orders. Sometimes you can see the conflict on POS borally’s blotchy face.

A couple of months ago, President Obama said something and POS borally agreed with him. I can’t remember when or what, but I remember the next day, POS borally did a complete flip-flop and said the President was wrong. He totally contradicted himself. And it was obvious that POS borally didn’t like doing that. He looked like he was being forced to swallow a stinky load of shit. I imagine Jabba Ailes was standing just beyond the camera to make sure POS borally got back to telling his sheep to hate President Obama.

Money motivates POS borally.

@Don By all accounts they are actually friends who enjoy taking the p… out of each other and Bill usually behaves like a human being when he’s got Jon in front of him. That makes it all the more difficult to understand the evil twin who pontificates and passes out grades on the Factor.

I paid for it and watched it because I figured half to charity beats none. That plus I had to work so I would have missed it otherwise. That being said, a lot of it looked set up, but on a couple of occasions it looked like they really got emotionally charged about their point. The justifiable slams against Bullshit Mountain were spot on. I will say Bill did not cop the attitude he does when on his home turf in the hallowed halls of the House of Ailes.

You’d think eventually blowhardbillowlielly will figure out he’s neither as smart or as quick as Stewart. Every time they’re head to head Stewart pwns him and generally with his own words and all the blowhard can do is stand or sit there with his teeth hanging out.But his ego will not allow him to recognize the obvious plus he knows Stewart will let him be seen by a demographic that normally would not give him the time of day. These things are just a scrimmage for Stewart, the blowhard thinks it’s a league game.
