Why can’t all liberal guests on Fox be as feisty and frank as AMERICAblog’s John Aravosis? Unlike most liberal guests – who rarely seem to even consider Fox’s tactics, much less call them out – Aravosis was prepared and willing to call out Fox's phony ObamaCare victims. It seemed to leave host Howard Kurtz speechless.
Yesterday, Fox News’ MediaBuzz questioned the media coverage of ObamaCare enrollment meeting its 7 million mark last week, as the open enrollment period ended. Conservative guest Amy Holmes doubted the numbers, suggesting that if the people who lost coverage got netted out, the number would be far lower. She called the administration’s claim to have met its goal, “self-serving propaganda.”
Kurtz helped underscore and validate her point. “Do you think that element – that people have lost (coverage) as opposed to people who have signed up, has been missing from much of the coverage?” Kurtz asked. To Aravosis, Kurtz asked, “Don’t the media naysayers have a valid point?”
Watch how Aravosis pointed out what Kurtz seems never to have considered: the negative coverage of ObamaCare, including the coverage right there on Fox News.
There’s been no critical coverage of ObamaCare in the last three years! Are you kidding me?
…What we keep hearing are stories of people who got, basically, screwed over. We heard it in the State of the Union from the Republican response. We found out that story was wrong. We had three people on Hannity, families talking about how their coverage got destroyed. We found out their stories was wrong. We have had story after story after story – I don’t know that there’s a single ObamaCare horror story that ended up being true. We have had ample press coverage!
Sure, do we need more information? We always need more information but to suggest the press has been positive? On ObamaCare? Give me a break!
