Yesterday, it was Melissa Harris-Perry. Today, it's Joe Scarborough nailing Sean Hannity over his blatant race baiting. On today's Morning Joe, Scarborough discussed the right-wing push to scapegoat the African American community over Trayvon Martin's death. Scarborough singled out Sean Hannity as a poster child for that kind of race baiting - and there's probably no more deserving candidate.
Scarborough said,
There's this unexplained leap to justify George Zimmerman's actions of walking through a suburban neighborhood armed, chasing down a young black man, being told by a dispatcher to get the hell away, and him continuing to chase down the young black man. I just find it so ironic that we middle-class whites were enraged in the 60s and 70s when liberal politicians would try to generalize and say, 'Well, it's society's fault so society needs to give African Americans who are committing crime a free pass.' Now it's the opposite! It seems, and what's depressing is this isn't confined to the far right, talk show radio hosts who generally - I mean, Sean Hannity has been ginning this up so badly that Michael Savage - Michael Savage! - has been saying that he's been irresponsible and that he is using race to gin up his ratings in a way that's bad for America. That is how extreme Sean Hannity's position's been.
But this is where we find ourselves today, Gene (Robinson), in 2013, that now young African American males are presumed guilty because of larger societal trends.
I've written for many years about Sean Hannity's shocking race baiting and bigotry. It's good to see it finally getting some mainstream media attention. Let's hope this is the start of a trend.

Hell, if anything, Fox News gave the least coverage to that, until it became their go-to for “Why doesn’t Obama talk about black people who shoot white kids?”
“…and most chances are that you and your children will hear about “once great America” that became “now rotten Greece”.”
EXCUSE ME Jeff — obviously you’ve NEVER heard of (or have forgotten) these immortal words of John F. Kennedy, 35th POTUS:
“If a free society cannot help its poor, it cannot save the few who are very rich”
[from his presidential inaugural address on January 20, 1961]
“Those that make peaceful revolution impossible will make VIOLENT REVOLUTION inevitable”
[from a 1962 White House press conference]
Thanks for stopping by and tell all your friends about News Hounds.
In one case an infant was killed by some kids during a botched robbery
In the other case a supposedly grown-up man killed a kid during a game of cops and robbers while acting against the advice of some real cops.
The first is a tragedy and kids only a few years older than the dead child will probably spend the rest of their days in prison. The latter is (IMO) a travesty of justice.
Juries can and do make mistakes: didn’t Illinois suspend the death sentence after it was demonstrated that about half the people on death row had NOT had a fair trial?
Scarborough has never but never come across as a leftie to me: where on earth could Jeff ever have gotten that idea?
Oh, wait.
Trayvon Martin: The police declared the shooting justified before they asked any questions, or collected evidence, ignoring that the shooter was admitting to the following:
Contempt of cop
Instigation against an identified suspect
Escalation of what was now a police situation.
They also conveniently ignored that his wife busted him for fraud and perjury during the investigation, and in court.
Oh, and while Trayvon Martin’s Facebook was so important, why not Zimmerman’s social media? I’m sure the jury would have loved to know he had fantasies about killing the Latinos of other nationalities, posted casual racism about blacks, bragged about assaulting people, and actually posted that he’s untouchable because of his dad…
Oh, wait- That’s establishment of character, history of precedent, premeditation of crime, and a confession of how his parents abuse the system to let him keep terrorizing the locals.
I’d like to know how the FBI came to the conclusion that there was no reason to believe this guy is violent or racist. He bragged about being both regularly.
Actually, not quite, Jeff Boy. we KNOW that you’re a moron because you continually come here under fake names and spew the same stupid shit ‘ad nauseum.’
You’re a loser, Jeff, and we really don’t care what your opinions or thoughts are. We can see/hear/read the very same ‘wisdom’ anytime we wish by simply watching Fox.
Joe is on the left??? Do you know that Scarborough served in the United States House of Representatives from 1995 to 2001 as a Republican from the 1st district of Florida?
On your other comment, what’s your point? It makes no sense. Can you please give examples so perhaps we’ll understand.
What do you think of Sean’s comments and the reaction from Joe Scarborough?
Jeff Mann, now that I answered your question, now it’s your turn to answer a question that I have for you. What do you think of Sean’s comments and the reaction from Joe Scarborough?
‘I hate blacks MORE, NO! I do, No! I do’
I just can’t help wondering…..hmmm……
What would he be saying if that were HIS
son laying dead in the grass, shot by a black
man who claims self-defense and was found
not guilty?
Would he vigorously defend him?
I think we ALL know the answer to
that question!!
While I don’t agree with Joe Scarborough on several key issues, I do enjoy watching his program each day. I feel he does a very good job of presenting all sides of an issue that allows the viewer to get facts or opinions from each. When he gets to far out there Mika Brzezinski does a good job in reeling him back in and Joe recognizes that his Republican party has gone too far to the right that there are shooting themselves in the head with many voters with this constant anger act.
Something is wrong when a cartoonish show like Fox & Friends wins in the ratings over Morning Joe that teaches and not preaches.
