Bill O’Reilly is really losing it over Gov. Lincoln Chafee of Rhode Island. Two nights ago, O'Reilly was so infuriated over Chafee’s supposed war on Christmas, i.e. his failure to make it Christ-y enough, that O'Reilly spitefully instructed his viewers to send Christmas cards with pictures of Jesus to the Rhode Island statehouse. Yeah, that really puts the Christ back in Christmas, eh?
At the end of one of his many discussions about Chafee's Christmas culpability, O’Reilly said:
Now what I want to do is, I want to encourage everyone across the country to send Governor Lincoln Chafee a Christmas card with Jesus on it, OK? …I want everybody, everybody watching all over the world, not just in America, OK? Send it to the Statehouse, Providence, Rhode Island - a Christmas card, Governor Lincoln Chafee, with Jesus on it. OK? Nice sentiment! Just nice, “peace be with you, Governor,” “peace on earth.”
O’Reilly had a big grin as he talked about using Jesus to deliberately harass someone with whom he disagrees. Ho, ho, ho!
By the way, Chafee will be on The O’Reilly Factor tonight.
A book recommendation for Heather Mills: “Stranger in a strange land” by Heinlein is a great book for followers of Christ.
I don’t think about my “lack” of faith when I’m putting up the christmas tree, lights, and decorations at my Mother’s. Buying gifts, eating dinner, and spending time with loved ones is what I enjoy about the Holiday Season, not the blind worship of some philisophical(O’Reilly’s word) historical figure.
With all do respect.
@Heather: As a kind and loving person, why on earth would you want to defend the likes of people like Bill O’Reilly who practically never say anything that Jesus would approve of?
" ⦠and judgement awaits those who persecute."
That’s good advice.
And Bill O’Reilly is someone who should perhaps heed those words when he encourages his cult like followers(see…Scott Roeder) to persecute a public official with harrassing letters and cards.
Sure it’s just an “ego trip” for O’Reilly, but, sometime’s it has deadly consequences(see…Scott Roeder, above).
By the way, FoxNews persecute’s almost everyone who disagrees with there rightwing agenda so you might want to stay away from the “bath salts” and get some perspective.
On Tuesday night, BOR specifically asks folks to mail Jesus Christmas cards to the RI Gov and then the Wednesday night BOR acts like there is no particular religion involved with Christmas. Gawd, that’s too funny!
Well, if nothing else we here at NHs and David Silverman (from BOR’s facist âwhat religion is involved with Christmas?â segment) can all have a good laugh at BOR’s expense. Yep, he definitely IS losing it. Bwaaah!
Its a sad state of affairs when a national platform is used to promote very anti-Christian attitudes in the name of Jesus AND in the name of Christmas. As some people say, there is a strong likelyhood that O’Reilly is the anti-christ, which is a logical conclusion considering his hypocritical and obnoxious use of Christianity as a political weapon, and his claim that it is not a religion.
