Fox News' Mike Huckabee Does Robo Calls For Virginia Voters
Ralph Reed, Jack Abramoff pal, founded the "Faith and Freedom Coalition" which is mobilizing Virginia Christians to vote in the Virginia election. As part of that effort, they enlisted Fox News show host and commentator, Mike Huckabee, to record a robo call which was made to nearly 700,000 Virginia voters last Saturday. While not specifically mentioning the GOP candidates, the "values" and "life" code language was front and center: "Hello, this is Mike Huckabee and I'm calling to urge you to go to the polls Tuesday and vote for the candidates who reflect your values. Virginia, and America, are at a crossroads. The future of our nation is at stake, and on the issue of taxes and spending, the sanctity of life, and marriage, there are very clear choices. Be an informed and educated voter and be sure and vote your values this Tuesday. Thank You. Paid for by the Virginia Faith and Freedom Coalition." Somehow, I don't think Olbermann and Maddow are doing robocalls; but ya never know...!

Hannity Says Jennings “Criticism” Not Homophobic? Fox Nation Link To Homophobic Site Says Otherwise!
Sean Hannity, in rebutting an article in the Huffington Post whose author stated that those opposed to Kevin Jennings are “big, old homophobes,” denied that homophobia had anything to do with the criticisms: “Not surprisingly, Miss Garry sat on the finance committee for Obama for America. She cites no evidence to suggest that criticism of Jennings by me or by anybody else was motivated by his sexual orientation. You know why? Because there is none.” As an openly gay member of congress, who is also subject to constant homophobic smears by the nice folks who post comments on a Murdoch website, once said, “on what planet do you spend most of your time?” While Hannity told the radically homophobic and otherwise other worldly member of congress, Steve King (Iowa) that he is a “libertarian” when it comes to people’s sexual mores, his attacks on Jennings were totally based on Jennings’ sexual orientation and to say otherwise is quite disingenuous. His “libertarian” comment came before allowing Rep. King to go on a homophobic tirade against Jennings! (History found here.) Not only is Hannity playing the victim; but he’s full of crap because today, on Fox Nation, there is yet another attack on Jennings and this attack is based on an article from a radical, homophobic, hate group which is attacking Jenning on the basis of his “association” with ACT UP and a nasty, bad art exhibit at Harvard.

Megyn Kelly Takes Up The Christian Cross In Partisan Hit Piece On The ACLU
The right wing loves the second Amendment to the US Constitution – the First, not so much. And because the ACLU is involved in efforts to support that amendment – particularly against the blurring of church/state issues, it is reviled by the radical right who still refer to the ACLU as the ACLJew. Not surprisingly, good Fox Christian Megyn Kelly seemed very concerned about the effort of the ACLU to have a large war memorial cross (it is a Christian symbol) removed from federal land in the Mojave desert.

“Independent Filmmaker” James O’Keefe And “Brokeback Priests?”
As Fox News has described Hannah Giles “sting” partner as an “independent filmmaker,” I was curious about his filmography. His “Live Action” (doesn’t that sound so porno) Planned Parenthood “sting” videos, starring Fox fave Lila Rose, are readily available on the “Live Action” website which is linked to from many of the anti-choice blogs. Hannity pal, radical anti choicer Jill Stanek praises one of his videos in which he talks to students who are “amassing” condoms in preparation for an orgy. Stanek describes it as “awkwardly entertaining.” It’s not available; but Ms. Stanek is trying to get it for us. Not surprisingly, his ACORN pimp videos are quite the rage in the anti-choice and right wing blogosphere. But I did run across a google citation for another video which seems to have disappeared from You Tube: Brokeback Priests: Priests tell Gays to Stay Gay. It’s done by O’Keefe’s “Veritas Visuals” which is the “company” that produced the ACORN videos. The description under the removed video is: “Ben and James go undercover in Boston and get homosexual advice from two Reformed "Catholic" Franciscan Ministers.” Wonder why it’s not available. Darn, I so wanted to see it. But based on what I've seen so far of O'Keefe's oeuvre, Quentin Tarantino has nothing to worry about!

Fox News Isn't Covering President's Minnesota Town Hall
While CNN and MSNBC are carrying President Obama's Minnesota Town Hall appearance in which he will talk about how, under the present system of health care, folks could end up losing their health care and how health care reform will address this issue, Fox is showing the wild and whacky world of Glenn Beck. Talk about from the sublime to the ridiculous!!!! But I get it. Obama might indoctrinate some in the Fox audience with his socialist/commie/librul agenda and we can't have that. Beck, on the other hand, provides the requisite fact based information (just kidding) that Fox viewers (all happy with their health care especially if they're on socialized Medicare!) need in order to keep that paranoia and hatred a churning and a burning. Fox knows that their viewers don't know what they don't know - and Fox aims to keep it that way.
