Dick Cheney’s BFF: Sean Hannity
Could Dick Cheney have a better friend in the world than Sean Hannity? Hannity didn’t just conduct an hour-long softball interview with Cheney Thursday night (9/1/11), he helped promote Cheney’s talking points for him. Then, at the end, he did the bidding of Cheney’s daughter Liz, who was in the audience, by going a bit harder after President Obama.

Laughing Stock Michael Brown Still The Fox “News” Go-To Guy For Disasters
If you discount the World Trade Center attacks, the non-existent Weapons of Mass Destruction, the “Enhanced Interrogation techniques,” and the “Outing of CIA Agents”—which, oddly enough, pretty much sums up the entire 8 years under the President George W. Bush and Vice President Dick Cheney administration—most people would be hard pressed to name one other member of that regime. However, the name Michael Brown is one that crops up occasionally to point to the extreme incompetence of the Bush administration. To recap: Brown was the head of FEMA in 2005 when Hurricane Katrina whacked the Gulf Coast on August 29th. Four days later Bush praised him by saying, “Brownie, you're doing a heck of a job.” However, by then it was pretty clear to everybody but Bush that Brown was in way over his head. Less than 2 weeks later, on September 12th, Brown resigned as head of FEMA. With that resumé it’s a wonder why any so-called “news” operation would use him as a commentator following another natural disaster. However, that CV didn’t stop Bill Hemmer, who dragged out the disgraced ‘Brownie’ on America’s Newsroom to critique President Obama’s response to Hurricane Irene. Watch:

Fair And Balanced? Fox News Refuses To Correct Report About Pulaski, VA Police Department
On July 29, 2011, Fox & Friends, during their weekly promotion of Judge Andrew Napolitano’s “Freedom Watch” show Freedom File Fridays segment, host Clayton Morris aired a frightening segment in which he likened police in Pulaski, VA to the Gestapo, saying they were “casing through apartment complexes” and breaking down doors in the middle of the night. The only problem? Pulaski police chief Gary Roche says the report was a complete distortion. Despite repeated attempts, Fox News has refused to hear out Chief Roche for his side of the story, much less report it.

Fox and Friends Continues Its Years Old Smear* That POTUS Is Secret Muslim
Didja know that President Barack Obama is a secret Muslim? No? Then you haven’t been watching Fox “News” for the past several years. It’s the so-called “Fair & Balanced” channel’s favorite phony meme, pushed whenever they can find the barest opening in an attempt to convince its gullible audience that Obama prays 5 times a day to Allah.* News Hounds is filled with examples of Fox trying to connect the president to Islam. However, the grand prize will always go to Fox and Friends, which insisted way back in January of 2007 that then-candidate Senator Obama attended a madrassas as a child. While they were forced to retract a few days later, that hasn’t stopped the network, or the Three Stooges on the Curvy Couch, from making the Obama/Muslim connection over and over and over again. That’s why it was ALMOST amusing that they did it again this morning, and again with an easily disprovable lie. Watch:

My Cross To Bear – An Annotated Segment Of The Five – A Rant By Aunty Em
Whenever we News Hounds, working behind the scenes to divide the labor, encounter another one of those Fox “News” “Defending the Good Christian Cross” segments, I am always happy to let Priscilla do it. It’s not out of laziness, but because she has grounding in the religion that I—born Jewish just like Jesus—simply don’t have. She can not only quote the New Testament, but she also has an understanding of the culture that I cannot even begin to pretend to fathom. Finally: I always learn something about Christianity from her religion posts and even more about Fox “News.” However, when The Five recently did a segment on That Old Rugged Cross at Ground Zero, I knew it was time to put down a few of my thoughts on the topic. Everyone put on your flame-retardant underwear and stand back, because I’m taking special dispensation (isn’t that a religious concept?) to editorialize from my particular point of view. These comments are my own and do not reflect the opinion of News Hounds, or anyone else who writes here.
