Hannity Needs To Put Up Or Shut Up About Claiming Obama Didn’t Want Bin Laden Killed

Ed Schultz has rightly confronted Sean Hannity over Hannity’s over-the-top accusation that Osama Bin Laden would still be alive if President Obama “had it his way.” Hannity has been arguing since Bin Laden’s death that it was George W. Bush who deserved the credit because he waterboarded suspects who, according to Hannity, gave up the information we would never have gotten under anti-waterboarder Obama. And never mind that President Bush said, as Schultz showed in a clip, “I truly am not that concerned about (bin Laden).” Last night, Schultz aired a number of clips proving that Obama (unlike Bush) has been very concerned with capturing or killing Bin Laden since before taking office and challenged Hannity to air clips showing otherwise.

Schultz said:

Hannity spent eight years propping up a president who admitted he didn’t care about getting Bin Laden. President Bush lost interest just six months after 9/11… Show us the tapes proving President Obama didn’t want to kill the Number One terrorist in the world, Osama Bin Laden, responsible for 9/11. Your move Mr. Intellectual Honesty.”

And while you’re at it, Mr. Intellectual Honesty, why don’t you explain why you never fulfilled your promise to be waterboarded for charity, nearly three years ago?

Hannity and Gingrich, more so than most of the extreme RW pundits, suffer from a case of “when you point a finger at me, you’re pointing 3 back at you”.

If Obama hadn’t made the call to rake him out, FOX would be saying “and OBL is still on the loose. Why hasn’t he fulfilled his promise to go after him?”

They are bitching now because he took away their talking point. They are the ones who wanted him out there. When you kill the boogeyman its hard to keep fomenting fear of said boogeyman.
