Will Fox News Mock Passivity of Fort Hood Soldiers The Way It Did Va Tech Shooting Victims?
Guest blogged by Notveryhow
Commenting on the April 16, 2007 shooting at Virginia Tech, Fox News contributor Mark Steyn wrote a piece for the National Review Online which decried the passivity of the students in the face of an armed gunman. Steyn, whose survival of a rough and tumble deployment at King Edward's School in the United Kingdom, before dropping out, has qualified him to comment on facing down armed adversaries, mocked the Virginia Tech victims by saying, “They’re not 'children.' The students at Virginia Tech were grown women and — if you’ll forgive the expression — men.”

Hannity's "Soul Mate Of Hate" Arrested Again
We've written many times about white supremacist Hal Turner and his past relationship with Sean Hannity. As laid out by Max Blumenthal in The Nation, Turner was regularly welcomed on Hannity's radio show where Turner spouted his bigoted philosophy. For a sampling of Turner's shocking views, you can listen to my recording of his more recent webcast here. As the webcast shows, besides being a bigot, Turner was also a regular inciter of violence. I also know because I was one of his targets. Well, it looks like Turner's hate-mongering time may be up. He has been charged in Connecticut for threatening three state officials and has now been arrested by the FBI for threatening federal judges in Chicago. 200 rounds of ammo and 150 hollow-point bullets were found in his house.

FOX News' Latest Ambush: GE Shareholders Meeting
Dear FOX News,
Why haven't you sent your ambush guy to Sean Hannity? You've been up on your high horses over Janeane Garofalo's comments on MSNBC, you even thought it worthwhile to ambush the GE shareholders meeting to express your outrage about them. And yet you did not seem to mind when Sean Hannity's guest, Rev. Jesse Lee Peterson said most blacks in Tennessee are racist. Did Hannity or Fox News object? Not a bit. In fact, Hannity's other guest was not allowed the opportunity to challenge that statement. Peterson has returned as a guest on at least two shows since then. Could it be because you only care about racism against whites? Or do you only care when it occurs on other networks?
More about the GE meeting after the jump.

Jon Stewart Does Hannity
Leave it to Jon Stewart to capture the essence of Sean Hannity, this time a la the Hate Hannity Hotline. Stewart, noting that Hannity says he loves the hatred, says, "Yes, it's cathartic. It can be so therapeutic to publicly ridicule those whose views you find repugnant when they are in no way able to respond." Video after the jump. H/T Alternet

FOX News' Right Wing Author Stimulus Plan
Media Matters' blog, County Fair, has noted the frequency of right-wing author appearances on the "fair and balanced" network and asks, "When was the last time you saw a progressive author receive that much airtime on Fox News?" As I previously posted, FOXNews.com did its part for Ann "Boombox" Coulter by adding a link to Amazon.com, where readers can purchase their own copies of her latest screed, in a prominent place on the Hannity & Colmes website and deceptively labeling it, "Click here to read more."
