If you've been wondering about the solo show in store for Gretchen Carlson, until recently a co-host of Fox & Friends, your wait is over. We now know that starting Monday, September 30, Carlson will host The Real Story with Gretchen Carlson during what is currently the second hour of America Live. Apparently, that show will be discontinued as its host, Megyn Kelly, moves to prime time.
TVNewser reports that The Real Story will be preceded by America's News HQ, co-anchored by Bill Hemmer and Alisyn Camerota. Who will take over Camerota's current spot on Fox & Friends Weekend is undecided, according to TVNewser. Whether Hemmer also stays in his current spot on America's Newsroom, airing from 9-11 AM ET is not mentioned.
Carlson's quote in the Fox News press release about her show is priceless:
Carlson added, “I am thrilled that Roger Ailes has given me the opportunity to host a signature show for Fox that will focus on the real stories of the day."
Really Gretch? Does that mean you were not focusing on the "real stories" previously? Or that other shows don't?
My personal feeling is that Carlson does not have enough of an engaging personality to hold a show on her own. But maybe she'll surprise me.
Stay tuned!

“Gretchen Carlson leg cross”
Dat bimbo Can attract some sorta droolers, oops, folks who stare at her, if only for “up her skirt” thrills.
Sorry, Wretched, but for your show title to suggest that FOX “news” is going to be giving us the, ahem, “real story”, well, let’s just say that it’s pretty laughable considering all the times I (and definitely NHs and Media Matters) have double checked FOX’s reporting/interviews only to find out they deliberately left out some inconvenient truths and also told the folks some flat-out lies.
I’m of the same mind as Ellen in that I don’t find Wretched to have a very engaging personality. But, if she works up the outrage and goes full-mode drama queen, she just may get herself some ratings.
Meanwhile over on Wretched’s old show, F&F, the show must go on (as we are getting the same right-wing pablum designed to manipulate rather than factually inform). The latest chuckle-worthy comments that actually made me feel embarrassed for the 3 stooges of the curvy couch were about Cruz’s 21 hour, self-aggrandizing grandstanding…
The new, younger blond replacement, Elizabeth, was heard to excitedly quip, "And if you think about “Green Eggs and Ham”, it’s kinda about somebody trying to force feed you something you don’t want, right?"
Kilmeade: “Right, green eggs and ham.”
Eliz: “In the hopes that you’ll like it at the end.”
(Me: Insert facepalm here)
Kilmeade: “I never got through it. We started to read it and then…”
Daddy Douchey: “That’s good!”
Eliz: “It’s deep! That’s intentional! He could have read anything. He read that and there’s a reason behind it.”
Kilmeade: “Maybe. Uh, that’s really looking deep into it.”
Um, “in the hopes that you’ll like it at the end”, Eliz?! Bwaaah! Considering that the character in the book does indeed end up actually liking what he claimed to dislike, all I can say is — OMG, the stupid, it hurts. No worries, Wretched, it looks like Eliz has it well in hand. LOL!
